Sorry if I'm posting too much, but there's something I want to ask.
Me and my friends at school have been talking about a Naruto character that they'd like to see fight another character, and I wanted to know which fight(s) you guys want to see and who you think will win.
For me, I'd like to see a fight between Neji and Gaara. ::dies at the thought of it::
For who I think would win..erm..I dunno X33

Gaara & Neji is one of my dream fights actually! I think Gaara would abuse him though. Personally, I think Gaara can defeat mostly all ninja. Deidara only got lucky cuz Gaara wasted all his chakra saving his people and remained defensless... that tricky artsy bastard! (Never forgiving him)

I also dream of seeing Gaara fight Itachi. To me, right there... that's like the worlds two strongest shinobi in Naruto. I made a fanfiction of them fighting based right after the Kakashi Gaiden chapters in the manga and it ended up a stalemate.

I seriously hate Deidara cuz of what happened to Gaara. I'm so FAR from being a fan... and please... don't do that to your dog. Dogs are just stupid animals. Throw a baby next time.

I'll warn you... it's not typed up like most fanfictions. I write the normal way, like a book is read, with blocked paragraphs instead of spacing all of it out, unless there's a new paragraph. Also, it's six chapters long. Quite a read. I don't find it all too great when it comes to the organizing of words, according to most critics, but the wording and literature is fantastic. Pfft, Deidara won because he outsmarted him. He analyzed the situation (That his goard sand is faster than the desert sand) and used that to create an opening. He even let his arm be smashed so he could mix his exploding clay with Gaara's sand. He never mentioned anything about his chakra besides that AFTER Gaara exploded he used the last bit of his chakra to not let his sand crush Suna. And besides, using the environment to your advantage is totally a Shinobi thing to do, there's no shame in that.

Deidara > Gaara. You're not in Akatsuki for nothing.

If Gaara didn't learn to actually have a heart and love his people, he would of completely killed Deidara at the rate he was going. It's just that when you're evil... there's no tricks like that to take you down. Retarded bad people.

I still think that Deidara is stronger than Gaara simply by the virtue of the fact that HE BEAT HIM. It's not even a hypothetical battle, it's a fact. It actually happened. Deidara is stronger. Deidara even said he was ill-prepared and didn't take it seriously at first, and he still came out the victor.

Even Kimimaro almost skewered him, if he didn't conveniently die of his sickness inches before the final blow. I don't think Gaara is as strong as you make him out to be :/

There are always circumstances to battle, and under these circumstances with Deidara and Gaara, Gaara was put at the disadvantage for the fight being held in his own land. He had to of wasted most of his chakra by only shielding Sunagakure, which caused a major difference in the fight because Deidara wouldn't have been able to follow through with her plan if Gaara didn't, and he wasn't gonna let people die. Deidara even said it was her last attack, and was all she can do. She did use her head well though, but Gaara just had to accept the defeat for his people, now lacking enough chakra to sustain her last attack. Sasori teased Deidara for being ill-prepared, but that's all. She seemed more than prepared to me with her intelligence and clay jutsu. Take the battle anywhere away from Sunagakure, and I think Gaara would have whipped her... but it's true. The fact remains she won, no matter how she did it, cuz fights aren't made to be fair. They're made to have a winner.

Kimimaro was an insanely strong opponent. It was also 3 years before the fight with Deidara, and apparently from the insane amounts of sand used and how intense his sand ability had become, he'd improved by tenfold as Kazekage. Like the cheap opportunity Deidara had to win, Gai was even quoted by Rock Lee telling Gaara how luck is also a part of a winning battle you can be proud of. It's not as much of a matter of skill as it is the fate of the moment.

And as for the whole 'circumstances' thing, that is very true. Afterall, we've seen that Naruto's strength fluctuates a lot...he can do terribly in a simple fight and then do amazingly in another one just because of how he feels about it. When he fought Gaara, that same day he was convinced he couldn't win, but the circumstances of the battle changed that completely.

By the way, their fight's coming up on the series in only 10-11 weeks from Episode 172's airing this Wednesday, depending on how they edit and start off Part 2. I'm excited, cuz that's the fight I've been dying to see.

Hmm. Gaara/Neji is one of which I would enjoy as well, mainly because I want to know who would win. I'm trying very, very hard to put aside bias right now (Neji-sama is my favourite character :D) but I think that Neji has a good chance of winning.

Gaara is powerful, no doubt, but Naruto did manage to defeat him. I'm aware that Naruto defeated Neji at the chuunin exams, but Neji was close, no? He lost to a kage bunshin thanks to his arrogance and holier-than-thouness and faterantfate blahblah. I believe that with his kaiten, he can easily repel sand attacks. Gaara's sand is not entirely foolproof either, as demonstrated from Sasuke and Naruto's attacks.

Therefore, Neji has a high chance of winning. I believe.

I'd think that Neji would have a good chance of beating Shukaku-less!Gaara. Beacuse you know about how Gaara isn't as strong as he is with the Shukaku and all that crap.
But, if you saw the fight with Gaara and Kimimaro, Gaara could use that ultimate defense Shukaku..thingy...o_O
But, yeah, then again Neji can use Kaiten and block Gaara's attacks,too.. I'm not sure who'll win! It's too hard to imagine for me >_>;

YES I WOLD LOVE TO SEE SAKURA / SASUKE.

As for Neji / Sasuke, I'm not entire sure that Sasuke will win. For one thing, the Sharingan cannot copy kekkei genkai. He cannot copy the jyuuken taijutsu and effectively use it, because the Sharingan cannot see the chakra holes of the human body (I think Kakashi mentioned it during the NejiHina fight.. if I'm not wrong). I agree that Sasuke has an advantage with the seal though. Before timeskip, Naruto was just barely defeated by Sasuke, so I figure Neji has a chance.

I presume we're talking about post-timeskip characters. Sasuke has probably improved by leaps and bounds, but Neji is the only ninja other than Temari to become a jounin.

Hmm as for Lee/Neji... interesting. I have to say that I agree that it wouldn't be possible unless Gai does. This is out-of-point, but I wouldn't want Gai to die. And this is where my own biasness comes in: I don't think Neji will lose and I hope he doesn't cos he's my favourite cahracter, but that will mean Lee is pwned and I don't like that. Or if Lee wins, he'll probably open some gate or rather on himself and damage his system, which is somethig else I wouldn't want.

I'm not sure this warrants its own comment, but I think Naruto and Sasuke were equal, but the kyuubi chakra taxed his body just a little bit more than the level 2 seal did Sasuke's. :O

I think... Orochimaru with his arms fixed vs No-drugged Jiraiya would be great... Gai vs Kabuto would also be really interesting too.

Now... Itachi and Kakashi... *fangirls* that would be amazing~ with them both now having Mangekyou Sharingan...

The Naruto vs. Sasuke rematch is eating away at my brain... I know it's coming... I want it so baaad... It is going to be orgasmic amazing! Not to mention that it will satiate my fangirl dreams

I also wonder at the powers of Gaara without Shukaku... because during the fight with Kimimaro... Gaara seemed to be doing a lot of the sand control himself... so... maybe he has his own abilites now? I don't know... Poor Gaara <33

I'd like to see Kurenai vs Asuma, if only to satisfy my need for more teacher/jounin other-than-kakashi-or-gai involvement. I think it would be interesting because they clearly have feelings for each other, but they're also excellent ninjas, so you wouldn't think they'd go easy on each other. Asuma might have, but she wouldn't have wanted him to.

as for who would win, i think Asuma has the power to overtake Kurenai easily, but she's got all her genjutsu moves to mess with him. Plus she's probably limber enough to play defense pretty well. All in all i think Asuma would lose, either honestly or on purpose, just so he could get some loving later on that night.
