Another fic request. I can't remember if I posted this one or not, so I'm putting it up again. Just in case.

Rating: PG-13. Because of Tayuya.
Warnings: Cursing. Otherwise, nothing.
Requests: Open. Ask for any pairing. I'll do my best.

And you know you want to review.

“Shika~~maru~~~~!”

Shikamaru rolled over just in time to avoid Akamaru’s not-so-graceful landing on the roof next to him.

Damn. So troublesome. And he was enjoying watching the clouds. Now his view was blocked by a large mass of white/tan fur and an enthusiastic canine shinobi.

“What is it, Kiba?”

“You’ve been lazing up here long enough. C’mon, me and Tayuya wanna train with you.”

“Too troublesome.”

“That’s your answer to everything, lazy bum. Get your ass up and do something for once.”

Great. Now he had -two- people on his case. He closed his eyes. Maybe if he pretended they weren’t there, and tried to sleep, they’d eventually leave him alone.

Judging from the sudden lack of solidity under him and the fact that he was getting slobbered on told him he wasn’t going to be that lucky. He sighed.

“Kiba, let me down.”

His stomach lurched as Akamaru bounded off the roof. Shikamaru curled up in a ball just in time to avoid being impaled on a roof-tile.

“Kiba!”

“Shut up, shit-head. If you keep on being such a lazy bastard, you’ll never get any better.”

“It’s too troublesome.”

“Shut up, you shitty rat. You’ll do what we say, no matter if it’s ‘too troublesome.’”

“Women,” Shikamaru grumbled under his breath. He could feel Tayuya’s glare, and he sighed again.
Today had seemed so promising; it was warm, many of the other teams were off on missions, and he had his cloud-viewing spot to himself. But now, here he was getting dragged over rooftops and tree branches, and felt his back getting damper and damper. Why were his friends always so troublesome?

Apparently, Kiba and Tayuya found the place that they wanted to train, because Shikamaru was suddenly released, and twisted to land on his feet. He shrugged off his chuunin vest, looking at the large damp spot in resignation. He found a nice, sunny spot and put the vest there, drool-spot facing towards it. He’d have to wash it(well, he’d get his mother too; he was too lazy) when he got home.

“Shikamaru!”

Shikamaru turned and looked up at the canine ninja standing on a thick tree-branch some distance above him.

“What is it now?”

“Tayuya wants to get better at Taijutsu.”

“Why’m I out here, then? I’m no good at taijutsu. You should’ve bothered Lee for that.”

“Lee’s on a mission.”

“You’re good at taijutsu, Kiba. You could’ve done it alone.”

“I want to get better at ninjutsu.”

“There are better people than me.”

“But no-one’s quite so patient.”

“Lazy’s more like it. It’s ‘too troublesome’ to run away, eh, shithead?”

Shikamaru sighed and rubbed his hair. “It isn’t worth training with someone who doesn’t want to. You won’t get anything out of it, just like I won’t.”

Kiba abruptly attacked, and Shikamaru dodged, mildly surprised. “Kiba!”

With two people pressing on him, he never really noticed the ‘training’. It was more of a ‘Let’s see all the inventive ways that we can attack Shikamaru and get him to react’ experience. The session was only ended once Shikamaru managed to catch them both in Kage Mane.

He paused, looking at them sullenly, before an idea hit him.

Neither of them liked water. Kiba because he was of canine inclination and Tayuya didn’t like swimming.

There was a lake nearby.

The light source for his shadow jutsu was steady. Wonderful.

“Ummm...Shikamaru, where are we going?”

“Because you guys put me through exercise, I’m hot and sweaty. There’s a lake nearby.”

Both saw what was coming.

“NO!”

Shikamaru gave them both a wry smile, and when he got to the lakeshore, he began to strip, making Kiba and Tayuya struggle against his jutsu. He had gotten better, though. He was quite capable of ignoring their protests.

He walked onto a dock that jutted out into the lake and gave Tayuya and Kiba a look.

“Oh, no you don–“

Shikamaru ran and jumped out as far as he could; his jutsu disengaged after that, there being no steady source of light. Shikamaru landed on top of the water while Tayuya and Kiba entered it with a large splash. He walked on the water over to the dock and sat on it, watching as Kiba and Tayuya crawled on top of the water, glaring daggers at Shikamaru. Shikamaru shrugged, then leaned back onto the dock and looked up at the sky.

It was good cloud-viewing weather.
