I hated him too, for what he did to Lee, then I saw him as a baby, with teddy bear and nobody loving him - I was SOLD.
Kishi did awesome job with his character, glad he's not killing him off.

Most definately. I thought Gaara was just a heartless, sick, twisted little fuck, and I could have cared less if he died. However, once you find out WHY he's like that, the pity sinks in and while he's still a fucked up little shit, it's at least somewhat excusable. Psychological disorder, ahoy.

And now, after Naruto's Shit-Kick Therapy For The Hopelessly Angry, and after becoming Kazekage, he seems really understanding and more caring. Less, "ZOMGBLOODKYAHAHA!!!!"

Mmm. I never will get over how he killed people for no reason. I cannot wrap my mind around that, regardless of the fact that it's how he was raised or what his life was like. My love for him definately comes from pity and the hope that someday he can become respectable. Well, as respectable as a ninja can be.

I find it very cool how Kishimoto has brought so many people to like Lee, despite how stupid he looks (and occasionally acts ^^) A lot of people in fandom, these days, seem to see a character and say "yes" or "no" depending on how attractive the character is.

You have a point and YES we do like this summary better! LOL! Don't forget - Naruto is a show directed kids and younger teens firstly, like DBZ, and how many times Goku and others were brought back to life????
Before Kishi will kill off any of the kids - he'll kill some adults - like Baba or some Sannin or any older jounin and stuff. I am sure for some people Gaara's death will mean more darker flavor of Naruto manga and they will like it more, but I don't really see him going this way - then again - surprise, surprise, he might kill him off after all. It's just that kid seen nothing but misery in his life - dying right then and there by the hands of Akatsuki would be just too cruel.
