Hope yet for Gaara?
Jun. 14th, 2005 11:39 pmAfter reading the poorly translated script
lordkefka linked to just a post before this one...
Deidara takes off with Gaara. Why?! Well, what other reason than that Gaara still has a use?
What we know:
* Akatsuki are creating new Jinchuuriki.
* When a demon is extracted from its host, the host dies.
* The sealing of a demon requires a human sacrifice (re: Yondaime, Gaara's mother, etc.)
And then, one logical leap of faith / a pretty safe assumption:
* the point of the ritual Akatsuki just performed was to take the shukaku and place it inside of Deidara.
Maybe the process of transferring the Shukaku isn't completed yet, and Gaara is still alive. Once Gaara finally dies, the Shukaku will be completely sealed inside of Deidara (in the same way that when Gaara's mother died, the shukaku was sealed inside of her son). If Deidara was worried about Gaara being healed and saved by Tsunade's star student Sakura, it makes sense for him to take off until the process is completed.
So, a few theories on what's to come in following chapters:
1* Deidara is killed, and since the pull/strain of extracting Shukaku is cut off, Gaara will wake up with the shukaku still safely sealed inside him.
2* Sasori is dealt with, and Sakura makes it in time to revive Gaara herself, stopping the transfer process since there is no human sacrifice to complete it.
3* Sasori is dealt with, but there's still a problem of the sealing of Shukaku, in which case Granny reseals the shukaku inside Gaara, possibly sacrificing herself in the process.
Or maybe a combination of any of the above... *shrugs* What do you guys think?
I usually post these speculations in my journal, but I'm feeling bold tonight and thought I'd put this somewhere that people are more likely to comment on it. ^^;
