I was wandering the K-mart in Astor Place recently for some new socks, and saw something rather interesting: fishnet knee-highs. I figured I could pick some up to improve the ninja-tasticness of my general wardrobe, when I had another thought: the knee-highs had to heel. I took a few home and cut off the seam on the toe, and lo and behold: I could now put them on my arms and legs! (think Temari's original costume)

K-mart is a big chain store, so if any of you other ninjas are in need, go check it out. They'll be by the women's tights and stuff. Two warnings: because you're cutting the seam, the bottom edge (what was the toe) will roll a bit, and the top cuff is a little wide. Also, as with all tights, they'll rip with relative ease (I already put a run in one).

I'll be wearing a black set as part of a makeshift Naruto-esque cosplay on Friday at Otakon (and, provided I can find the equipment I need before Thursday, Haku on Saturday). Good luck to all the Naruto cosplayers who will be there. ^_^Vm

To add, try Ardene's. You can get fishnet armwarmers, socks, tights, shirts, and all sorts of stuff - even easily modified shoes - that work for Naruto costumes, all in different colours and sizes. And it's usually very cheap - I got my Temari shoes for 4$ CND, and fishnet things for about 2$ each. It's awesome.

=)

Also, Wal-Mart has what I call "ninja socks" - solid or fishnet black socks that go up to the knees, but don't have toecaps or heels to them, and are hemmed nicely! Very sexy and awesome for cosplay - like Temari, who has a fishnet sock that doesn't show out the bottom of her shoe.

<3 Socks.

Yay Otakon <3

I'll be there for the photoshoot on Friday as Kiba with a slew of other Naruto cosplayers... I may change out of my Saturday costume for the Saturday photoshoot too ^_^

XD That's what I did for my custom outfit for AMA. Naruto totally started this fishnet trend.

Yosh for Temari looks! She only makes fishnets sexier. Bwaha.

I would check out K-mart...if they weren't all gone in my area. I can only go to Wal-Mart, can I still be a ninja? xD

Actually, that's how I did my Jiraiya for a few conventions/events until about a month ago. The only mesh material my fabric store had was tool (I think), which isn't ment to be worn against skin. Your solution worked much better while I did it.

Eventually I broke down and got a fishnet shirt from Hot Topic, but I still use one pair of socks for his legs.
