Oct. 9th, 2005 11:11 amHey, guys! It's my first post here, but I've been stalking for quite a while. So, uh, YO.
At the end of the summer, I went up to Maine to act as an au pair for six-year-old twins for two weeks. The madness started when they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up; I promptly replied that I was going to be a ninja (Sander, the boy, asked me if it was an afterschool job or full time). Checca, his sister, wanted to draw; the three of us sat down and I began doodling the Naruto gang. This led to "who's that?" and "what's his name?" and other such questions. And for the rest of the time I was in Maine, I educated them about the show. They're both really precocious kids (it's scary, actually), and they grasped the concept of Naruto really well. I think I can safely say that they are Junior Narutards.
Sander: Who won Sasuke's heart? Sakura or Ino?
Me: Uh, neither.
Sander: Why?
Me: *tries to keep it kosher* I guess he doesn't really like girls yet.
Sander: Does he like boys?
Checca: Sasuke likes me best.
Me: He likes you Checca?
Checca: Yes. *poses* I'm his favorite.
Sander: *runs into my room at some ungodly hour of the morning* NELLA! NELLA!
Me: *groan*
Sander: I had a big thought last night!
Me: Oh?
Sander: I think Naruto should be friends with Sasuke and help him kill his brother.
Checca: If I were a really sneaky ninja, I would go around and braid people's hair in the night.
Sander: Can we ninja in the night tonight?
Me: When you're older.
Sander: *poutyface* Can...can we practice now?
Checca: *bops Sander over the head with a tube in the pool*
Sander: *bops Checca back* You lack hatred!
I used doodles such as these to show the kids what everyone looked like. (Um, shut up, I did them in 30 seconds with crayola markers.) The kids decided what each person should be saying.

Checca drew this for me on the day I left. I'll treasure it forever.

That is my favorite ever! Even more so than my own son pronouncing Kabuto as "Cow-Butt-Toe!"

Those two are hilarious as well as the picture of Sasuke saying "I'm an avenger. -_-"
