[FANFIC] 'Legends' 1&2/? [AU]

A while ago, I signed up for an RPG called new_roots in which the mission was to take Naruto canon and turn it on it's head. Unfortunately, the RPG died shortly after I joined but the ingenuity of it's storyline lived on in my head. I adopted a few of the basic plot conventions from that RPG (such as the sand siblings being the children of the Hokage, Itachi being a legendary Sannin, ect.) but the core storyline and plot for this fic were pulled completely from my own brain once I started thinking: "Well, what if THIS had been different..."

So what exactly is this fic supposed to be? It's an AU where everything is different, yet exactly the same. Naruto still has the Kyuubi, the Yondaime is still dead, the legendary Sannin are still broken. But Itachi never killed his clan, Kakashi never had the Sharingan and the Akatsuki have never existed. The team formations are different and character relationships, positions in society, alligiences and ages are all subject to change. The story is still about the Biju demons and still works on the basic theme of what it truly means to be strong, but events play out very differently. In a few words, this story is how things could have been, but weren't.

And, uh, thus I present you with Legends, the fanfic that has been eating my brain.
