Since I have nothing else to do with my life than read Naruto scanlations and wait for episode 129 to finish downloading,(::screams at bittorrent to hurry up::) I noticed something in chapter 84 that was pretty interesting...(To me, at least ><)





I'm too lazy to go and find the torrent of that episode, so I was wondering, to those who have that episode downloaded, is Orochimaru's little curse seal thingy in the Anime too..?

Ah, I was wondering when some would post about those.

The three 'comma shape things' are a popular decoration in Japan. (I forgot what they are called!) So yeah, that is why you see them so many manga. Kind of like the swastika and the stylized cherry blossom too.

Yes indeedy; that symbol is everywhere in Japan - it's a shinto symbol, the mitsu tomoe. It has a meaning similar to that of yinyang and reflects shinto cosmology.

Here it is at the Kumano Jinja in Shinjuku Chuo Park. ^_^
