This is quite the pointless story, but it's cute so I figured I'd post it.

Yesterday, for Mothers Day, I went up to the new barn to visit my Mom and our horses, since I had yet to go up there and she said that's what she wanted.

After all the rain and such stopped, we were walking around the fields and such (which never end) and were visiting all the other horses that board there. We were mainly concentrating on the field holding our horses (Maggie Mae and Pooka), but once we eventually got to the top of this huge hill, there was a fence and a boarding field. There were three horses up there waiting for us; a ginger colored one, a darker brown and black one, and a white and brown spotted one (an "Indian Horse," a Appaloosa). Of course I had to go visit them. My mom was telling me that she wasn't sure of their names, and that the owner of the ginger and brown one was nowhere to be found. So, all in all, there was no one coming up and tending to those horses. They were being neglected by the owner, but looked after by the head barn person. My first thought? "Awh, their Mommie is gone." Then came the personalities; the ginger horse made sure he was up front the whole time, getting all the attention. He would shover me away with his nose, and then come right back to me for more attention. The brown and black one was not social at all, and kept his distance from the ginger one. The while and brown one stood off to the side and watched, every now and then coming forward. Can anyone tell me where my brain was headed? The ginger one kept trying to eat my jacket and then nuzzle it, so I finally laughed and said, "Okay, Naruto." It's ears perked and he looked at me, then he nodded. No joke. He just kept nodding. My friend and I thought this was absolutely hilarious, so we dubbed the darker horse Sasuke and the white one Kakashi. I went over and told my mom the story, and then turned around and was like, "Naruuuuttooo." The horse turned and came to the fence. It was really neat. He had answered to it.

Long story short oh wait, too late for that, my grandmother is paying for their hooves to get clipped and I'm going to start going up there and grooming them, and from now on those two are being called Naruto and Sasuke.


Now wasn't that pointless. ♥

EDIT: This has nothing to do with my post or Naruto (thought it will directly affect future Naruto-related posts of mine), but... Does anyone know how I can take screenshots in VLC Media Player? I'm itching to make some icons. Or maybe alternative screen shot ways in other players?

That is a really cute story. It's so awesome that Naruto responds to being called that. I kind of hope that Naruto's and Sasuke's owner doesn't come back, that way you can "adopt" them and such. of course I think it'd be cute to see pictures of them, too, but this is the slight horse-fan part of me talking now.

I almost hope that the owner doesn't come back, either, minus the small fact that I really don't have the money to keep hardcore taking care of them. Also, I heard that the woman tends to hop around the States and put the horses in different places. After all, they are expensive race horses that have been off the track now for quite a while due to this woman. If they stay, however, I may get to ride them. @_@ Now when it comes to grooming and medicine for small cuts and their feet, my family and I can do that.

After they have their feet trimmed and I get up there to groom them, I'm taking my camera and taking pictures/videos. I love horses so much. I'll be sure to post them for you. :'D sometimes I call our baby horse (Pooka) Rock Lee

Ah, well, if she does come back I hope you can ride them and take pictures of them before she comes. It'd also be cute if Naruto gets so used to being called Naruto that she has to start calling him that, too. *is shot*

Aw, yay. Even though I live in the state where the US Equestrian Team is located I don't live in an area with very many horses. They're such beautiful and powerful animals. Aww, that's adorable.

Horses are funny creatures.. oh man. I remember my ex's mother had this horse that reminded me of a dog. When 500lbs starts leaning on you like to say 'wassup' you definitly get one of those little sweatdrops -giggles-

I really want to ride them. I'm not sure what style, I'm guessing Hunter-Jumper... I only do English and Western, but I can learn! It's not too hard...I don't think. Well so far, my mother, neighbor, and myself call him Naruto. Once my grandmother gets up there, she will too. I'm starting it off. ;]

I don't live near any, but thanks to the fact that we have two, I get to go to barns and see them and ride and such. Our barn is in a county off the side of our town. It's a bit of a drive... Oo;;

I rode a horse that used to try to lean on people. O_o;; It really makes you wonder if they know how big they are. Our baby horse, Pooka, is getting pretty big, he's really tall and thin, but yesterday he layed down and put his head in my mom's lap and took a nap. It was so cute. @_@

I'm so happy that I can take care of them. I can't wait to go up and brush them. They're all looking a bit scraggly now since they havn't been groomed. I'll be taking pictures then, and I will post them. ♥

i love horses more then any other animal on this planet (maybe except for lions... ^^) and i hate my life for not having enough of them in it.

then the heavens gave me my bf and guess what? his family owns one of my country's biggest stud-farms!!! o_O it's a pity they live so far away from us, otherwise i'd be riding every single day!

Awww, that story really is adorable! I actually work at a horse barn here in Washington, DC. I grew up around horses, so it's the perfect job for me. Haha, and THIS combined two of my loves...Naruto, and horses! Yay!
