Naruto Calendar posters

Okay, while I adore getting these calendars most years (not too thrilled with what I've seen this year, sorry to say. Manga calendar is hothothot though), I am left with a shitload of poster sized images every year.

So, I'm proposing to ship them off to new homes instead of throwing them out. If anyone is interested in this, let me know--I can't post them in time for Christmas, but I can ship them from the US (I will be home for three weeks, so I'll ship then).

Obviously, this is just a feeler to see if anyone wants them, I'll post pictures next Sunday when I am back in the good ol' USA.


As a side note: Anyone interested in $10 doujinshi lucky packs? Pairing/genre will be included, with some fun freebies. Shiping will be from Japan, as I do not have time (or wieght allowance, ahaha) to do this in the states. They'd include two doujin and random stationary freebies (postcards and actual letter paper too. If I get creative and bored, I'll throw in envelopes that have been stamped with Naruto, Kakashi, Rock Lee and various and sundry others).

Anyway, lemme know. 8D

Yes, and when DB finally drops Naruto I'll start up the Shippuuden reports. Moving is a bitch guys, I don't reccomend it. 8D

THE NARUTO ESSAY HAS BEEN FINISHED

I've been writing this essay since July 2008. I wrote it several times, but the drafts were a jumbled mess for the most part. So I kept throwing them away and starting over. It's difficult to evaluate a story in the middle of the telling, and I kept changing my mind. I ended up with this.

I considered not finishing it. I'll be the first to admit it's rather…involved. Also, the conclusion seemed so obvious after the fifth time that I didn't understand anymore what I was trying to explain. But then I remembered that at one time it must not have been obvious.

This essay is complicated in part because what started as an endeavor to make a statement about Naruto's character turned into a reflection of the entire manga as a cohesive story.

It should be noted that I evaluate Naruto as a shounen manga. I expect the story to adhere to shounen manga tropes. What rhetoric I use to make my point does so within the expectations I have for the story's genre. These expectations are subjective.

Forgive mistakes. I'm not perfect.

This essay is 28 pages and over 12,000 words (incredibly, chapter 5 of White Rain was longer). If you read all of it, please comment! I know it could use pictures to break up the space. Actually, it could use its own zipcode. I would like to make it a website, but I don’t have the hosting, ftp, design skills, or patience. I thought about putting it in WordPress as a blog, but blog software isn’t designed to be static and I don’t know how to hack the code. Also, I need to get back to writing Naruto fanfic; (according to one reviewer, the Naruto/Sasuke fight came off pretty well, so yay.)
