Rokubi fanon ideas request

I'm going to have some fic space shortly in which I could write about the jinchuuriki we never got to meet in the manga.  I really only have room to write a backstory and plot role for one.  I'm thinking I'd like to write about this dude right here, the Rokubi's jinchuuriki:




Naturally we know almost nothing canonical about him.  He doesn't even have a forehead protector so we can see his village of origin. 

I could conceivably make up a fan!history for the guy from scratch.  But I was thinking, I'd rather ask the fandom for various fanon ideas they came up with.  Someone's got to be RPing this character, or have come up with a backstory, name, personality, jutsu, etc for him.  Anyone got any ideas to share?  I will of course fully credit all ideas used in the fic itself.  

One caveat though- if I use him in the fic, he's going to suffer the same fate of all jinchuuriki in Naruto. He's going to get captured by Akatsuki and killed when they strip out his bijuu.  But I think I'd like him to put up a good fight first, so anyone with crazy jutsu and bijuu attack ideas for this dude to kick ass with, plz do share. :D

As far as I know, he probably has a water affinity and maybe his bijuu is a salamander. A tranquil yet maybe arrogant person too. But as for name and village it might be a little difficult to make realistic. Kishi's given names and locations are such a mystery. D=

Maybe a village famous for water affinity techniques. Kiri or Taki could be possibilities.

Well, from the reading I've done, the Raijuu is, as his name implies, a Lightning-based Bijuu. He has full mastery over lightning, and thusly, so would his Jinchuuriki.

Another thing worth noting, is that the Raijuu has a thing for sleeping in people's belly buttons, so it's possible that he was sealed in the Rokubi Jinchuuriki's navel, as the Kyuubi was with Naruto.

Well, looking at the comments above mine, why not make him have a water-lightning affinity? He can use water jutsu to flood the battle area, and then zap everything that's wet with lightning jutsu.

(And on that note, with how Kishi does his elemental rock-paper-scissors, what the heck does water-lightning produce? I mean, water-wind gives ice, and water-earth gives wood, so does water-lightning give fried seafood or something?)

yes, yes indeed it does! It is the basis for the little known tempura-no-jutsu!

Although I think that only elements that are right next to one another on the elemental wheel can combine? I might be wrong it's been a while since I've seen it. earth ~> water ~>wind ~> fire ~> lightening ~> earth. Right?

I don't know about his fighting sytle bu by looking at him he strikes me as a very calm kinda guy. Very laid back. Probably chillin by the water front blowin his bubbles. *GASP! what if he could capture people in his bubbles?!?!?!

LOL Akatsuki's true plan after all. If he captured people in his bubbles which then sort of solidified and shrunk eventually crushing the person withing. Or the air pressure INSIDE the bubble could be vastly different from that outside so that when he popped the bubbles it causes an explosion.

I've been trying to come up with ideas for all those Jinchuuriki too (it's not fair we don't get enough info!).

I guess the only thing we can guess that would be canon about him would be he's one of the two Jinchuuriki that got abandoned by their village. So it should stand to reason that there's something about him that his village didn't like. Either it was he never became a ninja, or he was far too dangerous.

When I look at him I imagine him as a roaming poet or something artistic like that. He's dressed in clothes a little too elegant to fight in. I'm not sure what his bijuu is, but I actually imagine a bird of some kind, like a swam or a peacock perhaps. I don't know if there's any Japanese legends behind those though.

Also, I think I can guess a bit of his personality or such by his hair and eye colour. Anime/manga usually has a system surrounding that.

Black Hair - Black haired characters are not always instantly defined as being Japanese in anime, though it can symbolise a traditionally-natured or neutral character, as well a portraying the standard school student. A lot of central male characters in shonen series have black hair.

It looks like he has gold or maybe orange eyes. Gold eyes usually means demonic possession, although gold in general means wealth or strength.

From what I know of the myth that the idea of the 9 beasts come from... the six tail is a lightning element and a ferret like thing. The story is about Yama no Orochi... I think you can find info on it online.

As for the character since he didn't have a headband I pictured him not being a ninja at all. Maybe he's from a noble family of one of the countries. I just started an rp where someone is playing him as such. The story there is that his family auctioned him off as a weapon to which ever village could pay the right price.

If you want I can try to find the information on the origin myth I mentioned above. Kishimoto stuck closely too it. The main difference is the Hachibi which was originally a snake like thing... but since he had Orochimaru he wanted to make Killerbee something different so there wouldn't be duplicate animals.

I srsly am tempted to make his bijuu a salamander xD For plot reasons, it would be helpful if the guy is hanging out in Amegakure, but he could easily have come from Kirikagure. Maybe he's a runaway from Kiri because he didn't care for their apparently brutal ninja training methods.

Ficwise I may be inclined more to go by real-world effects (ie: if you use electrical weapons in a wet area you.... electrocute everyone. :D :D :D so on. xD) rather than how it would play out in a pokemon game. But eh, maybe the guy's a chef too. And can flash-fry stuff! I dunno. Silly stuff may not be a bad idea here either. All these jutsu are kind of ridiculous in real world terms anyway.

I've gotten a few suggestions for him not being a ninja at all, and I really like the idea. There are so many characters already who are like ZOMG FIGHTING IS THE BEST THING EVER! ZOMG POWERFULZ JUTSU! :D since... yeah, it's a shounen fighting series. xD But it sure would be different to have a bigass powerful character who wasn't trained as a ninja, wasn't necessarily into fighting, so on.

There have also been other suggestions about the character having either run away from or been exiled by his village, so that auctioning idea is a good one. Amegakure's full of refugees and various other displaced people anyway. Maybe he's hiding out there. Or was bought by Hanzou before Hanzou, well, bought it. xD

Actually, so I can credit the inspiration for that idea properly, could you link me to that person's rp profile? I'll credit you as well for pointing me towards the idea.

About the myth:
I've heard that there actually is no such 'tailed beast' myth- at least not one that existed prior to about 2005. I've heard that it's actually an urban legend-type deal that's sort of taken root as fan apocrypha. But as far as I know, it's not an ancient cultural myth at all.

However, it's for a fic, so who really cares about authenticity? I'll check it out. Thanks very much for the suggestions. :D

Just to clarify, I'm aware that the elemental affinity wheel you've (quite helpfully, so thanx :D) laid out there is canonical to Naruto. I just wonder if it seems too much like a Pokemon-esque distortion of reality, since that may not fit the fic. I tend to expurge some of the more fantastical elements of the jutsu system when fic-writing, as it can kind of test my suspension of disbelief sometimes. Then again, if everyone's got this 'elemental' chakra, maybe it reacts to other kinds of chakra too... and that kind of makes sense! xD Kind of!

no problem! And I never really fallowed Pokemon so I can't say how much it will make someone think of it. As for simply ignoring it LOL given the fact that it was NEVER MENTIONED until like chapter... what....300? 350? leads me to believe it was another Kishimoto after thought. Apparently (from wiki and the associated youtube link) it's not only a pressure shockwave but also extremely high temperatures. That's some crazy-amazing biology right there. I'm getting a lot of suggestions that the bijuu should be a weasel... but DAMN, not even an electrical weasel can compete with this shrimp. xD IT FIRES BUBBLES THAT FATALLY TKO STUFF. ZOMG That's practical a shounen fighting series uber-power super saiyan thingie ALREADY. xD

No problem. The hair thing took a while to piece together, I'm a little surprised there's not much info on it on the net because a lot of characters fit into the hair colour they're given. Like blond character being troublemakers or clumsy, for example.

To be honest, I've never played or watched anything Pokemon, so I use it sort of as a blanket term for this... whack of similar series and baldly designed to encourage kids to buy the maximum amount of stuff since you've GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL games. They all have this particular quality.

I'm having a hard time putting my finger on the exact quality I mean by 'Pokemon-esque' here, but it seems more like a video game mechanism than how weapons would work IRL. 'Weapon A harms Character B with the Blue Magic Thingie but not Character C with the Red Magic Thingie.' As opposed to 'the weapon burns pretty much everyone regardless of magical thingies because o hai, it's a flamethrower. And magic doesn't count as protective body armor.' So on. xD

Oh well, the fic is an introspective character study kind of deal, so I'm already busting canon at the seams. Can't hurt to bust the genre too while I'm at it. Kind of already have, anyway. whee.

The best part? Plotwise in the fic, this jinchuuriki character should ideally serve as a foil to the two Akatsuki (the fic protagonists) sent to kidnap him. As... wait for it... the voice of reason.

It's a device that does make a lot of sense within a video game- it simplifies things and also adds the strategic element you mention. It also works decently in a series like Naruto which draws a lot of it's plots from loooong RPG-ish battles. So readers can speculate on whether Weapon A will harm Character B who's got MAGICAL BLUE THINGIE :0 and so on.

But where it doesn't work? At all? In a character-driven fanfic about motivation, complicity in evil and the point where people cease to be victims and start to be perpetrators. And alas, magical items kinda don't fit the genre there at all anymore. xD

Well he didn't have a real profile but I can tell you what we named him. XD That's better than nothing I guess. But we came up with Mizujuusou Raiden for his name and he was 17 years old in our little story we just started. He's kind of a work in progress.
