Date: 2009-01-11 04:59 pm (UTC)Simple Question
Date: 2009-01-24 02:43 am (UTC)My question is why does everyone put an exclamation point after an adjective?
For example: ANBU!Itachi, God!Pain, and Sage!Naruto.
I don't mean this in a bad way at all, I'm just curious because I have seen it many times.
Re: Simple Question
Date: 2009-01-24 06:49 pm (UTC)I don't know why exactly other people use it, but I can explain you how I see it. Technically ANBU, God, Sage are not adjectives per se. If you want to say it 100% correctly according to all the rules, you should rather say "Itachi in his ANBU outfit", "Pein's God Realm form" or "Naruto in the Sage mode". But writing it with exclamation mark makes it shorter and even if it's not quite correct according to the grammar rules, everyone knows what it means. A kind of a mind shortcut - that's how I see it.
But better not quote me ^^;
