A Naruto Original Characters Database
Jan. 19th, 2009 06:59 amHello, esteemed members of
chuunin. I came across an old idea of mine while cleaning up my LJ entries and wondered if anyone would be interested in helping me start a wiki devoted to cataloguing original characters in the fandom.
The purpose of such a site would be to demonstrate the best roleplayers, fanfiction writers, and fanartists on the internet. Not only would it increase the popularity of those who are accepted to create a page on the site, but it also provides good practice for those who are still trying to feather out / develop their characters further, through critique given by the general public (when not applicable, the moderators and admin), and also by putting the character in perspective by sketching out his / her entire plotline and purpose within the story. As another plus, anyone looking for a good story to read would simply have to browse the homepage for anything that catches their eye, ensured that nothing which is posted there isn't quality (instead of having to waste time roaming around places like fanfiction.net and GaiaOnline for anything that isn't crap).
The reason I'm posting here is because I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in helping me create / advertise / be the first to contribute to the wiki, or maybe becoming an admin and helping me and a couple of others judge any entries which may be submitted. Of course, I'm more than willing to partake in all of the above, being an avid OC writer / supporter myself.
I'm planning to open the page on Wikia. I've come up with a basic outline of rules and regulations, along with a couple of links to Mary-Sue Litmus Tests for newcomers. If need be, we could also open up a community on LiveJournal for people looking for advice on how to improve their characters enough to be accepted onto the Wiki.
Thanks for reading!
