Just a random thought



Yondaime said that he "never wanted to see" Kyuubi again, but wasn't the result of his using that particular Sealing technique that he would be doomed to fight Kyuubi for eterenity or something? Actually, I nevere got that, since it was always clear where Kyuubi was, and clearly no 'eternal battle' was going on.

But then this is only Yondi's consciousness, so where's his soul/spirit? Or are is this meant to be the same thing (what's the exact Japanese word used)?

I think the whole "Battle for eternity" thing only works when both souls get trapped inside the Shinigami stomach together, like Sandaime and Sho/Nidaime's. He was probably just trapped inside the Shinigami's stomach instead of enjoying the "real" afterlife, which is probably a torture in itself.

And I think that him being able to talk to Naruto is a result of the seal, so temporarily he is able to leave the stomach of the Shinigami.

Thats a interesting topic you bought up. I didn't even realize that. In my opinion I think that eternal battle can't be completely right since Kyuubi has been sealed all this time within Naruto, so it wouldn't be possible to engage in an eternal battle without dying. Same thing with Sandaime and Orochimaru, Sandaime died earlier on, but he only mangaged to seal Orochimaru hands. Also Orochimaru was eventually sealed away by Itachi's jutsu( can't remember that name) So he can't be engaging in a battle with sandaime while being screwed by another seal.

As for Yondaime's consciousnes, I think it's his soul that appears, maybe instead of being eternally engaged in battle with kyuubi he sealed his soul into the protective seal thats on the bars of Kyuubi's cage as a precaution for in case Naruto reaching 9 tails, like whats happening in the chapter. This is just my opinion.


By the way : I love this chapter. I "dying" to read the next chapter (gushing with silly fangirl thoughts and emotion XD!!!)

I think that it was more of a "I really hoped it would never come to this" type comment. Like he really hoped the seal would hold and Naruto would resist the urge to give in to the fox. So while he kept a bit of himself there for an emergency, he honestly never wanted to *have* to come back again.

It's interesting that you say 'battle for eternity' though. I would think that, more or rather, the one who starts it usually has to the the one to finish it, right? Minato's the only one who managed to figure out how to seal the Kyuubi so...it's like a circle. It'll come back to him in the end.

I'm going to have to take a tranquilizer before next Friday though. This chapter was epically more epic than I could have ever imagined.

Hmm, I'm pobably wrong but I understood it as Minato's soul wouldn't be able to move on to the afterlife and instead he would be stuck inside the body of the Death God. I don't recall there being anything about an eternal battle but maybe I just missed that. Wouldn't be the first time.
