(There was something similar to this below but this focuses on what Shikamaru said recently from a different interpretation).
Now, a few weeks ago I made a rant about Hippie Naruto. This post is more of the same except I have waited to see Kishi is going to work things out.
To give him some credit, it seems the ninja world is slowly coming to terms with the ideals of peace although magically out of nowhere as Shikamaru has now begun sharing similar sentiments. Although, not to Kishi's credit it has been at the same time confusing and he's shot bullet to the foot of the manga. Shikamaru is now discussing the evils of revenge in that it leads to war. Sasuke gets killed by Kage, Ino kills Kage (pfft), Kumo kills Ino, Shika kills Kumo ninjas and so on and so forth. And as such, it must be avoided at all cost. Although, Shikamaru hypocrite much? It's a bit bemusing to see him discussing the evils of revenge in reaction to Sasuke attacking Kirabee when a few years ago he decided to kill Hidan and Kakuzu for that incident with Asuma. So it's okay for Shikamaru to take vengeance against Hidan but when
the Raikage takes revenge against someone you know like Sasuke=NOT OKAY!
At the same time, another shot is being fired at Naruto's theory of peace. If all this is really gonna happen cause Sasuke dies well then wouldn't it make more sense to focus on the reactor who will instigate the conflict? Or as in, start simple at home and convince them to avoid starting unnecessary conflict over a freaking duck-haired Uchiha who left the village years ago.
Although to give Kishi the benefit of the doubt, I will say this. If he manages to have Naruto practice what he preach without making characters out to be hypocrites and without contradicting the concept of ninja missions, then he is a f-ing genius. Sadly, it doesn't look that way.
Thankfully though, the 5 kage relationship and the cutthroat diplomacy has been quite riveting entertainment compared to all the recent Hippie no jutsu being dished out at first by Naruto and now by Shikamaru as well.
