i'm new to the fandom and i have been reading hundreds and hundreds of fics for the past 72 hours <_< don't judge. i can't help it, i'm totally addicted to SasuNaru/NaruSasu. I can't list all the fics I read but most of them were old...like some were written in 2003.
I LOVE AUs. i'm hoping someone might point me in the direction of long AUs with awesome plots and a real emphasis on the relationship between sasuke and naruto. i really don't care who tops. i dont mind works in progress either. thank you very much ^__^

I really enjoyed Almost Sucks, and it's a verrrry long AU :) there's a link in the author's profile to the story on their livejournal, which has a couple scenes that were cut out of the ff.net version for getting too naughty :P but all in all it's a very strangely touching story...

One of the best AU stories in the entire fandom (imho) is The Bridge I Crossed (http://scrum.spiralfishcake.net/fic/tbic0.php). It's long, and the story focuses on the tension between the two and the relationship developing, plus it's written beautifully.

Another really good one is Almost Sucks (http://naruto.adultfanfiction.net/story.php?no=600096579). It's a great story about growing up trying to figure out your first love. It's Sasuke centric but the story tells how Naruto changes him by their having a relationship.

My favourite AU story is Roommates ( http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2863275/1/ ) Not sure about the characterization, it's been a long time I read it, but it has a really exciting story.

And uhm, could you tell me please where is your icon from? I mean, I know it was a chapter color, I just never saw this coloring before.

read Talk To Me and Sometimes Around Midnight! They're the best. She's got a new story Give Me Shelter thats pretty cool too.

i love her story Parallels, but it's canon.

I know I've read through a ridiculous amount, but these are the best ones that come to mind at the moment. They aren't all AU, but they're great Naruto/Sasuke fics.

There's also an amazing one in someone's journal somewhere, but I can't remember where I read it. It probably has the best ending to a fanfic that I've ever read. Perhaps someone else here can recall what the name is. The end of the fic is narrated by Jiraiya as he looks at Naruto and Sasuke. If you've read it, you'll know what I mean.

Totally creepin' but I think the fic you're referring to with Jiraiya in the epilogue is actually Tangled Up In Lace? At least, that's what came to mind.
