One really that truly worries me about US Naruto...

A lot of your are worried that they will ruin Naruto by doing really bad dubbing...

Some of you are worried that they are going to edit the series to the point where it isn't the same thing anymore...

But there is something that I am REALLY worried about the US version of Naruto...the music.

Naruto features some really, really awesome music. The opening and ending themes are some of the most inspired songs ever heard on an anime series, offering everything from J-pop to pop rock and even some funky stuff here and there. What worries me is that they are gonna butcher these great songs and replace them with really generic rock/rap music...

Imagine that instead of hearing the soothing and sad "Wind" piece or the awesome "Far off distance" you hear this...

"NARUTO! He's an awesome guy!
NARUTO! He's a super ninja!
NARUTO! He is really cool!
NARUTO NARUTO NARUTO NARUTO NARUTO NARUTO HEY!"

All set to some really bad and cheap orchestration, vocals and music (think the US Dragonball GT theme song..or the original DBZ theme for that matter...That's one aspect that will get me mad if the screw it up.

So what do you think? Agree, disagree?

I'm not really worried about that. The FMA dub's opening was intact (only with the wrong one) and the ending was the same, just shorter. The DVDs turned out nice. They kept it all the same as the original.

i 100% agree, the naruto OST is one of my fav anime OST's, and yes, editing for content/time and stuff like that, is berable, but if they change the music... i think we're gonna have us a massacare

It's being done by Viz/Shoppro, who have kept all the BGMs and ending themes for the Inuyasha dub(Adult Swim doesn't show the Openings). Even FUNimation, who dubbed DBZ, has kept the original music for the Cartoon Network versions of YuYuHakusho and Fullmetal Alchemist.

This is something I'm not too worried about. :)

Oh my. I really hope they don't change it. I guess I can understand shortening it for time (although I hate that too. I wanted to hear all of Kesenai Tsumi, FMA! :[). Naruto has the most action-packed, beautiful/heartwarming, and then cute songs. XD;

The thing is that FMA and Inuyasha are marketed as serious anime shows for older audiences, so they don't edit the openings. However, Naruto is gonna be marketed towards the tweens/young boys market, and they usually add in a song that "appeals" to them.

Shopro also did Hamtaro, Megaman and zatch bell and they changed the opening theme songs (the anime was intact though).

Good thing 4kids didn't get the show as they ALWAYS write lame songs for their series.

The most they did to keep DBZ's songs were for the movies. Which I thought was stupid if they're going to do that and not do it for the series as the songs were the same. Wtf. I'm going to guess that they're changing the songs for the Naruto series. :( Damn it all.

They are nice songs, but they aren't really that special. Seriously, is this like the first music you've ever heard, or something?

Wind is the best ending theme I've heard in any animated series, and I've watched an assload. And aside from the fact that it's fucking hard to spell, Seishun Kyousoukyoko is one of the better openings(DNAngel's, Noir's, and a few others are better). Gunslinger Girl, of course, has the best opening theme of any anime because the Delgados are superior to any bandany Japanese band, but I don't count it since it wasn't made with the anime in mind at all. :P

Most of them are pretty generic anime stuff, though. I hated the second-to-last one with Naruto running along the polka-dots and chibi-photographs.

I can see your point but like other people said, I'm not really worried about that. And hey, I really don't mind the Dragonball GT theme song at all! I think it's kinda catchy!

I wouldn't of minded hearing the original opening song of One piece though, but it's kinda catchy too yet the song gets into your head and never wants to leave!

I disagree because, what do you care? If you people are all so vehement about hating and not watching the dub, then hate it and don't watch it. Ignore it. Listen to the Japanese music. But stop complaining about it, because you have no control over it.

It's not like we have any right to complain. We don't pay for the series, we get it for free.

Just to make it clear I am actually cool with the whole "Naruto is licensed" ordeal that's been going on for months now and I don't get freaked out about some details.

The thing is that I really like the music in Naruto. The background music and the opening and ending theme songs are some of the things that make Naruto Naruto. Like I mentioned, they have a wide variety of fun, intense, dramatic and emotional songs in there. So it kinda breakls my heart if they change it all in favor of what's currently the flavor of the month in music for the "tweens".

I'm not making a HUUUGE deal about it like some has done about the voices and other aspects of US Naruto. I;m just stating something that i hope doesn't happen to the series.
