Long awaited manga discussion

Sooooooooooooooooo......sorry folks for not updating so regularly, I had some personal issues to take care of, but I am back. SOOO here's what's happened in the manga thus far:

-Kakashi and Co. meetup with Itachi clone (which is actually a Sand Nin)
-Gai and Co. meetup with Kisame clone (which is actually a Sand Nin)
-Both clones are defeated by Konoha and then discovered by Zetsu, who eats them
-Gai uses the 6th gate
-Naruto is trapped in Itachi's genjutsu and imagines Lvl. 2 Sasuke taking over his body
-Obaasan is revealed as the one who sealed Shukaku in Gaara
-Naruto has a flashback about Gaara's past and his past.....very sad and lonely
-Gai and Co. reach the barrier first
-Kakashi and Co. meet up with them eventually
-Neji believe what's happening within the walls
-Abstracting the Shukaku is ALMOST done

Predictions:

-Akatsuki member(s) will come out of hiding and attack them all
-Sasuke will appear, after following one of the two groups
-2 or more Akatsuki members will be taken down
-Gaara will come to and not die
-Obaasan will die in the process of defeating Sasori
-Jiraiya will show up
-Asuma and Co. will show up

I don't think any more Konoha ninja are gonna show up in this fight...there's already seven of them and only 2 Sand(including Gaara) and 2 Akatsuki in the cave. Unless Kishimoto needs an excuse to have plant-boy actually fight since he's in the way.

And dammit, now I wanna see a cubist-style Shukakku. :P

Omg if Sasuke appears soon I'll die. I think it'd be a bit early even now. We need more explanation and details concerning Akatsuki and Orochimaru's whereabouts.

I dunno about Gaara surviving. After all, the shukaku is being drawn physically from him and like it was stated...he would prolly die. Suspense works in so many ways. I'll cry if he dies. Someone has to die, apart from Orochimaru in the end. I can see Kishimoto keeping Itachi and killing of Gaara (GRRRR!)

Obaasan will die in the process of defeating Sasori:
this one I thought of too. Definite. She'll be the only one who can either
a) save Gaara
b) stop Sasori

I'm thinking that someone from the akatsuki who hasn't been shown will come out, and they'd probably would fight. Or maybe itachi and kisame theirselves.

I don't think sasuke will show up just yet but might be another story with a flash of orochimaru and Co.

I also don't think anymore people from the village will show up, there's already alot.

I'm hoping gaara does die, because it'll spice it up some more.
But that's just how i feel. :3

Entirely possible; I am still not sure that Orochimaru is going to be entirely happy with the Akatsuki getting this power and I can't believe he'd know nothing about it going on at all....

But then it's Orochi, so who knows! ^^ It might serve some purpose of his, or just be irrelevant to his plans...who knows with him and his people. :)

Possibly my Sasori...but only Sasori and Deidara are there. I wonder if they'll retreat after a bit though...I mean, they have what they want now.

-Gaara will come to and not die

My theory on this is that Gaara will survive because he has managed to keep his individuality, his own soul, seperate from Shukaku, something the previous vessels (of whom we know nothing) didn't manage to do.So yeah. :) I am more optimisitic for Gaara now.

-Obaasan will die in the process of defeating Sasori

She did say she'd lived long enough, didn't she....perhaps she's not expecting to come back. :( But I wonder about the effect on Sasori seeing his reaction...I guess we'll see if he still has some affection or if he's Itachi like towards family.

-Jiraiya will show up

I hope so - I love Jiraiya! :)

-Asuma and Co. will show up

I dunno about that....well, I guess they might well! ^^

If Gaara dies Kishimoto is forever going to have buckets of sand dumped on him every time he steps outside of his front door.

I got attacked by a Gaara fangirl once. You have no idea of the places I was finding sand in after that :'(

I am kind of pissed off right now, actually. Kill him or don't. Dragging it out for two weeks and counting is painful.

I am kind of amused that they have time to sit around and go, "Hey, team seven!" "Hey, team Gai... what's up? "Not, not much, really, just staring at this door."

Meanwhile, I'm yelling, "The door's locked, kick it in!"

I think Gai, Lee, and Sakura have enough combined brute strength to bust the door down. But it'll probably end up involving seals and passwords or something.

-i say no to sasuke's appearance. too early.
-i've been saying since the very beginning that gaara will not die and i'm sticking to it. *sticks*
-i'm kind of sketchy about asuma and co. showing up considering tsunade's kind of slow. it took her 3 days to realize that omfg team kakashi can't possibly take on akatsuki alone. 'sides if asuma and co. are going to show up, we would've been given a little hint about it.
