I don't know, but I found this rather amusing.

Friend that was working at the Kikiwai booth at Anime North told me that the Naruto headbands were sold out 3 times and had to keep getting restocked. I thought that was hilarious. She also told me that there were a looooooooot of Naruto cosplayers. Characters that is. Interesting... hehehe

So, anything new there? Wasn't able to go this year. doo dooo dooo... *mumbles*hw*mumbles*

Stuff for a really popular show keep having it's stuff sold out and had a lot of cosplayers. No shock there. That's what always happens.

Kikiwai is cool. I got myself an naruto Cup last year. I hear the actual store location is rather nice. Small and crowded but nice.

Yeah, there were a shitload of us. I counted over 100 Naruto cosplayers walking around, and that's not even including who I saw at the photoshoot. I was Tenten, included with them. It was fun.

Yeah, there were a ton of headbands, but most are of the cheap variety. I got one of the expensives ones and one of the cheap ones... the quality is very different. The expensive ones have a good metal part but a shitty band, and the cheap ones have a good band and a shitty metal part. The expensive ones have shorter bands that barely go around the head, while the cheap ones do. But the symbol on the cheap ones rub off with contact by anything from skin to cotton to metal. Seriously. Within two days, my cheap one was missing about 95% of its symbol. It was just the very point of the konoha leaf.

LOTS of cosplayers though. Lots.

I have a decent headband: the band itself is navy blue and made of very good/durable material. The metal part is made of a good metal, but instead of having the symbol painted on, it is just indented into the metal. It is hard to see in pictures, the symbol is.

That sounds kind of like the expensive ones (which are about $50 CND, as opposed to $10 for the cheaps....) except the expensive ones have these incredibly short headbands... you almost have trouble tying them to your neck, let alone to your forehead.

The official Chuunin vests are $120 CND of pure garbage, though. Ugh.

I went to Ushicon in January, and Konoha Imports had a booth selling headbands. By Saturday they were pretty well cleaned out. Even after the con, their website had a message saying they had to restock because of Ushicon (until it dissapeared entirely ;_;).

Mine, which I got from their booth, looks like this (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/yurami/kunaiheadband.jpg). It's real metal (thin and bendable aluminum), and the sand symbol is black and indented. I got it for $15.

I managed to grab a good quality one for 20$ at the Kikiwai booth on Sunday (of all days). The band is dark blue cloth and the metal is very shiney and flexible. She said they were holding it for someone, but h hadn't come back for hours and they said I could have it. I was sooo happy.

As far as cosplayers, I think Gaara, Temari and Sasuke were the most abundant.

It wasn't a sand headband, by any chance, was it? ._.

Ahaha, I remember that. Though, as irony always goes, every time we sold out, we had more people looking for the headbands than when we restocked them again. XP
