Wow. That ad didn't even seem like they were talking about Naruto to me. But it still was cool. I was hoping to be able to hear what the english version of Naruto sounded like. Maybe next time.

I think they still haven't decided on all of the VAs yet. :\

Yeah, it just sounded really strange, probably because we hear that as the actual definition, instead of just treating it like a name. The Japanese probably thought "hokage" was weird.... >_>

the promo (which sucks bad!ass X___x - just think of the pronounciation *waaaa~h*) reminded me of the FACT that there's a tv-channel here in ``germany´´ ... which's tryin to get there fingers on Naruto.... OMG!!!!! I'm soooo~ going to die ;^; - or - I'm soooo~ going to move to japan XDDDD

And people thought the new dubbed-Naruto fans will be rabid!

Anyhow, what other word can you replace with "Head Ninja"? President? Prime minister? Leader? King? Emperor?
Seriously, it's not that horrible. o_O

And the pronunciation? MOST of us should have already known it was going to be pronounced differently anyway. At least they didn't change the name! It isn't the end of the world.

WORD. I agree completely. I'm actually really excited for this dub. And I think 'head ninja' was used in the promo because even if they kept it "Hokage" is would not make any sense to veiwers who haven't seen it. My guess they'll keep Hokage in the show but just explain it, like "I wanna be Hokage, the best ninja in Konoha." or something. And the pronounciation wasn't bad, and I am sure the VAs will do better than the commercial narrator, a lot of the promos don't give much about the actual shows anyway. Either way though, I was very pleased to just see Naruto on my TV that wasn't from a fansub =D Dub = heck of a lot of cool merchandise. I. CAN'T. WAIT.

I think they're going to use Head Ninja. They don't have much time to explain what Hokage means and stuff. @.@;;
I think the only time English VAs pronounced a Japanese name right was in Gundam wing when they said Heero. They even got the Japanese R right. XD;; But that's all I remember. Things are always lost in translation, we're just too spoiled with fansubs that keep certain Japanese words in (Or like weird Engrish like Sexy no jutsu!! O_o) so we get too attached. X_X;;;
When the Naruto videogame comes out, I AM SO THE FIRST ONE BUYING IT.

Me too. I thought the promo itself does the job of catching the viewer's attention. I actually WANT to watch it despite the fact that I know some stuff will be messed up.

As for the name... I was just happy that it wasn't nay-roo-to... ¬_¬
