So I finally listened to the constant badgering of my friends telling me to read the manga. I caught up today. And I was wondering...how often does the chapters come out? Acutally, I know it's once a week, I more meant when can I expect a new chapter so I can dl it to read? Like the anime comes out Thrusday (or at lesat I get it on Thrusdays). Who has a good scanlation, who should i avoid, etc...? And where. ^^ Thanks.

The manga comes out on random days... Sometimes the raw pops up early in the week, as early as monday (it's released in Japan on Monday and we all have to wait for some nice person to scan it). You can expect a fast translation by any of several people on the narutofan forums, and a low quality scanlation by Shannaro will quickly follow -- usually all within a few hours of the raw being released. High quality scanlations (the ones you'd want to save on your computer) take a few more days.

It all depends on the raw. Although it comes out in Japan on Mondays, lately we've been getting it on Friday. Except today; we got the raw a day earlier than I expect (so thursday). So really, it varies.

Oh yeah. As for who has good translations and scanlations, I'm a Shannaro fan. Inane is good and has been around a lot longer, and I still download theirs, but they have a tendancy to over-edit their stuff. (The biggest case in point being the time they added the Sharingan eyes to the Akatsuki leader and everyone freaked.) Shannaro does it's best to stay true to the manga, and they have a team of awesome translators who love the series and know what's going on.

And, like I already said, you can expect a quick low quality scanlation from Shannaro within hours of the raw being released -- just to please the hungry masses. A few days later they come out with their high quality scanlation, which is all cleaned up and pretty and with any/all translation errors fixed up.

You can download Shannaro scanlations at Narutofan.com. They're always announced in the forum before they're put up on the main news page, though.

hm. i feel like i'm in the same boat as you..my boyfriend in japan who's a naruto freak told me i should really read the manga because it's so much better than the anime..

i know what he means now...i learned a lot more. ^^
