Ahahahaha, at my school a bunch of people already have them. My friends and I bought a bunch at Christmas time, and since we're the coolest losers in the school and all the other losers want to be like us, a whole crapload of people who have never seen Naruto went out and bought one too.

haha. I e-mailed the merchandise rep. about which characters to stock and what kind of forehead protecters they should sell and Hot Topic is sending me a giftcard for all my help with their merchandising/marketing questions. I get to take home the Naruto stuff for free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way, the Naruto stuff will be appearing at Hot Topic in September so everyone mark their calanders!!

Not so much. Hot Topic used to be a ... societal fringe type store. Then it was everywhere and catering to the youthful "OMG WE'RE SO REBELLIOUS" groups of the week - Goths, ravers, punkers, and now, apparently... Otaku. I'd dare say that it's become closer to a facet of pop culture - if you don't quite believe me, check the Harry Potter or Inuyasha sections of the Pit and see how many fanfics have Hermione or Kagome going pointedly to Hot Topic for their ultraGothic/Punktastic/SPESHUL makeover.
