My thoughts on the manga!

Okay, I was in a conversation with a friend over what currently happening in the manga, mostly about Gaara and such.


When I made up a list of what I believe is going to be the sequence of events in the following manga.


This is my own list, made of my own thoughts, please keep that in mind.


SPOILER FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T READ CHAPTER 274 OF THE MANGA




In the Naruto Manga, they're going to do it close to or exactly as follows:

1) Naruto and Kakashi will catch up to Deidara and Gaara

2) There will be a confrontation between Naruto and Deidara

3) The confrontation will execute the plan Naruto and Kakashi discussed, thus beating Deidara

4) After Deidara is defeated, either another Atkatsuki will appear and take Gaara, or, they will run over to Gaara

5) The last page of whatever issue manga this occurs in will end "He's..."

6) This is done to increase need to know, a fear of the unknown and a love for Gaara - more profit

7) At the beginning of the following manga, it will start on a different character or on a past event to heighten tension

8) Finally, we'll learn that Gaara's okay or going to be okay

I don't see how Gaara can be "saved" now...
His jinchuuriki has already been taken, right? I'm not very optimistic about him being alive...
Unless Kishimoto decides that he doesn't want to be skewered by the hordes of Gaara fangirls and works his magic and makes Gaara "alive" again...
Gaara's dead for SERIOUS. Anyway...I want team Gai now.

I love Gaara as much as the next cat, but if Kishimoto sacrifices his own established canon where what happens to someone who's been separated from his jinchuuriki and Gaara's magically okay, I'll be pissed. If you're gonna start something, don't wimp (I wanted to use another word, but we're in mixed company) out and retcon. I've dealt with that crap far too much in American comic books (I'm lookin' at YOU, X-Men), I don't need it here. I'll take the dramatic value over it. We have fanfic where Gaara can survive.

I read Academy X, but it's just not the same. The new students are decent characters, I hate how they've handled the OLD New Mutants, though.

yeah thats a little like me with gen13. i used to love it when i was a little younger then when i was working at a comic shop for a brief period i picked up new gen 13 and realized how much it sucked when all the old charactrers are now gone.

I know I will...Gaara was one of my first true 'fandoms' of this series...

But, Kishimoto has already taken so many from me...I should be expecting it by now...*Thinks about Haku, the Sound Genin 3 and the Sound 5*...

My other favorites are going to die, too...it's only a matter of time.. Kabuto and Orochimaru, I'd expect are on a ticking time bomb as well..their deaths will most likely be inevitable. For Orochimaru, I know that there is no question of that. I'd still hold out for Kabuto, maybe, but I know that is also a very, very optimistic view.

Maybe he'll leave Kankurou and Temari alone. *prays* And I don't really worry about the Konoha people I like...they always seem to come back...

Not quite - unconscious for three days, in-process for what I still think was one point five (Team 7 and Gai got there at the same time because the site was in the middle of everything and Deidara and Sasori just walked away, right?) and now has been 'dead' for less than one. Only points I can think of at the moment is that at five days the brain damage from dehydration starts to become permanent, and in theory the extraction was supposed to take three days - which may just be a shitty show of time on Kishimoto's part.

Your list is pretty much what I imagined myself.

I'm betting on the 'miraculous coma' for that last point on the list. You know, the coma where he's 'almost dead' (so we don't roast Kishimoto-san over the bit where he told us that extracting the One-Tail would kill Gaara), but he won't actually die as-long-as-you-bust-the-Big-Ebil-Statue-before-24-hours-elapse. You know, that kind of coma. The kind that apparently has a stopwatch and is exact to the very second. Then we get a countdown, suspense, OMG they won't get to the statue in time etc. That's probably how they'd do it in DBZ (not that that's any reference...)

The three days is from Deidara, or...someone else, saying that it took three days for Gaara's demon to be extracted, or rather, ripped from Gaara's body.

But, you never know with manga time.

As long as it's not like DBZ in which it take 3 episodes to power up a spirit bomb to kill frezia. *Rolls eyes* Ugh that was annoying.

Well, isn't 'die' used loosely in all Anime/Manga really? More in some then others, but still most of them.

An addition to the list though! After we go see what the other team's doing, (Let's say we finally we get to Team Gai.) we'll have a big flashback thing. (In The case of that team, we end up getting TenTen's life story, and last name somehow.) Which, when it gets to the anime will be followed by a filler arc, and then we find out what happened. I'm also thinking that whatever explanation we get comes with a flashback.
