Feel free to bite my head off, attack me with a soldering iron, or disfigure my face with a kunai if this post is out of whack. But I was wondering. You see, I haven't been following the anime for a few months because I had been waiting so unbelievably long for Kakashi Gaiden to come, that I got discouraged with the side stuff. /end dork.

So what I was really wondering is...Does anyone know when the "filler" (Using the world "Filler" as a loose term because there still is muchos of character developement, etc) will end and when Kakashi Gaiden shall take it's entrance? Or atleast, can anyone take a guess? I'm just so entirely impatient. D:

Thanks in advance for any information, theory, or opinion that you can offer me.

Leafninja says that the new OP/ED starts with Episode 154 in October. So probably then.

I have mentioned this before but a new opening premiered at the closing eps of Aoi's arc, so Ops and Ends aren't a certain guide to the end of orginal anime storylines (I personally now hate the term 'filler' as it's always used in a derogatory manner).

But I suggest you just download Naruto anyway and enjoy it; don't wish the anime away without giving the stories a chance.

The difference with this one is that, unless it sucks, it'll be very spoilery given the current anime position. So it'd be stupid of them to premiere it early...of course, it'd be stupid of them to show a timejump opening during the flashback stuff too. So maybe a cheaper temporary opening with Obito and co to spiff up the Gaiden, then bust out with the new one once we reach the 245 equivalent.

And, so as not to spoil the new looks and characters, add them in as they're introduced, like the opening you mentioned did with Kimimaro/Sand Kids/BandageOro/FightingLee. Y'know, switch Hiruko with Sasori and add in Chiyo and Gai Team and all that.

I just really hope it won't be another opening based in current anime timeline. It must have DeiDei and Sasori in some form. :/

I just had a horrible thought--do we know for sure they're animating Kakashi Gaiden? If there's a new op/ed maybe they're just going straight to timejump.

They'll be screwing themselves over if they DON'T animate Kakashi Gaiden, because that's like fourth/half of the filler time just WASTED there skipping some story stuff. O_o So I think they will animate it. :D

Yeah, Kakashi Gaiden is filler. Filler that they don't even have to come up with themselves! They'd be crazy not to use it. :P

To be honest, I also have doubts about whether they'll animate Kakashi Gaiden for the regular anime show. I hope they will, but I won't be surprised if it turns out to be otherwise. The thing is, KG is arguably not important to the current arc in the manga (at least not yet... Kishimoto-sensei may yet to surprise us here). Compare it with Remembrance arc in Kenshin, where Kenshin's past was an integral part of Jinchuu arc...

Even the fillers try to fit in into the story, so that's why I have my doubts. If they decide to animate it, I think it will come out as an OVA.

They could be saving Kakashi arc for another filler, you know, when they start Time Jump and get too close to manga - then BAM - about 3-4 episodes of Kakashi Gaiden. Ya never know. Or they can play with opening same way they did for "Save Sasuke" arc, like changing Naruto and others uniforms and looks and then adding new members of Akatsuki.
