I dunno, I think it kinda fits. So long as they don't overuse it. I'm not sure what people were expecting...did they want him to actually say dattebayo (which may or may not sound as ridiculous as 'believe it' to a native Japanese speaker)...

I guess they could have just left it out all together, but they must have wanted to capture the same feel as the original version by having him say some sort of catch phrase after a lot of his lines. Something for the subbed fans, I'd say, which is actually kinda considerate.

I agree with you on that one. It's kinda funny, yeah, and the icon's adorable as hell.

But... seriously. "tte ba yo" is basically like saying "That's what I said!"

So... like, take your pick, sub fans. "Believe it!" or "That's what I said!" or some random words just thrown in there to match the time of talking.

It actually works to me. REALLY works. I think it's adorable. XD I was so scared they'd just ignore the idea behind "Dattebayo" entirely, so that they're acknowleding it makes me happy.

Yeah, that's true. I'd say the same too. It's kinda like Chichiri's "no da" and I think they made him say "ya know". Not that I watched Fushigi Yuugi that much...

I'm just in general fearing watching the English Naruto. Mostly for the voices. Dammit, I wish I had a tv. I'm downloading it right now! I can't really say anything until I watch it.....dun DUN dun....

It's really not bad. The voices are much better than I think anyone expected. Naruto actually sounds like... well, Naruto. The only character whose voice I'm kind of iffy on is Kakashi's, but I've only heard his voice in one of the commercials, so it may be too soon to tell. Overall, I would say the dub is actually good. Although, I still much prefer the Japanese version, of course.
