I think Chie Nakamura has done a good job. I didn't like her or Sasuke's voices at the beginning of the show, but they've both improved a lot. Nontan is better in Bleach than he ever was in Naruto.

Kurenai and Asuma are so fucking hot, I forgot that they were in this episode. Kurenai's voice is pretty good and Kakashi is alright.

Anybody else think of Chia pets when they say Uchiha? ^^;

agreed with you tenfold on the fucking hot part. I was hoping Kurenai's voice would be a little deeper and sexier, but i can definitely live with what they gave us. and who knows what may happen as time goes on.

and i had also forgotten they were in this episode, which shames me >_<;

Sasuke's voice is pretty good. I like Hinata's too. Shika/Ino are okay. Didn't really catch Kiba's(was expecting him to mention the Antichrist) and I don't think Shino said anything.

Now One Piece is starting and, damn...this could be worse. -_-

tho every time i watch this i keep thinking of the true naruto style things and i laugh thru 90% of the episode.

i think Chouji's voice is my only real VA issue, everyone else is either doing well, or very livable.

TNS keeps popping up in my head too, that and the "Ramen, Feel Great" AMV by DarkSide Productions.

Other than that horrible mispronunciation, though, it continues to be a remarkably painless dub... Sakura's voice grated on me a little, but she's got another 147 episodes or so to perfect the performance. XP

It's slightly disappointing that they weren't able to show the uncut kiss scene, but I thought the edit they came up with was quite amusing and in the spirit of the original version.

I thought it was an enjoyable episode all around. I'm happy with Sasuke's voice - a bit slow though, but otherwise just the way I 'pictured' it to be.

Sakura's good as well - just the right amount of whiny and obnoxious all rolled in one.

I'm not too pleased with Kakashi's voice though. I dunno...I expected it to be a lot more...eh...cool? But then again, maybe it will grow on me.

Loved Shika's voice!

But all around, so far so good. Can't wait till next week.

well said, i agree with most everything you stated. And it is nice to rewatch the first episodes after not seeing them for so long in a new light. It still excites me to see our rookie nine being sorted into the teams we now know and love.

Kakashi's voice was pretty good. Not as low as the original VA, but I liked it. But I'll wait until the next episode. Sakura's voice was better conveyed than in the clip that CN had on their site. Sasuke's voice was awesome in my opinion. Nuff said.

One more thing. The whole toilet joke is lost on some new viewers. I watched the episode with my boyfriend, (who's new to the show) and as they cut out Naruto wiping his ass, my guy didn't know what was going on until Kakashi made his comment about the milk. The same goes for the deletion of the nose bleeds - though that's more of an anime in joke than anything else. That took some explaining as well. As far as the kiss goes, though I fail to understand why a "crossdressing" Naruto is acceptable but an accidental kiss is not, the idea was still there - so there's really not too much to complain about - sans America's utter fear of anything remotely resembling homosexuality. That is all. ^^;

Chouji's voice is my only real issue. I *love* Sasuke. Even if you guys think he's too low at times, he clearly can act. His delivery of that one line to Sakura, about mocking the lack of family, made me happy.

Sakura...annoying, Sasuke whore with whiny/sasuke whore voice...but IMO, that's correct. I thought it was good; I thought Ino was good too.

What's wrong with Shika? SO maybe he doesn't sound 12 and has that nasal sound..but I think it's hot ;p

The only thing that really irked me about this ep was poor Chouji's voice. Seriously, that's uncalled for.

loved loved loved Shikamaru and Naruto talking in the beginning, and Shikamaru and Ino's talk. i thought those two scenes were rather perfect.

and i was completely won over by seeing and hearing Kurenai 20 episodes earlier than i thought i'd be able to. if only i could have heard kiba, shino, and asuma i'd be all set. although i did enjoy kiba's little "heh heh" as they called his name with Hinata, cause he loves her.
