Dave Wittenburg's Kakashi sounds like five years younger than Inoue Kazuhiko's. o_O I'm not sure if I like it or not... it's got a sort of sinister tone, puts me in mind more of a past ANBU!Kakashi than the current canon one...

I'm not sure how much I like dubbed Kakashi's voice, either and I agree with you on the tone. It makes me wonder what Kakashi sounds like during the Kakashi Gaiden. *hopes it gets animated*

I think rather than sinister it's just too condescending and he generally sounds like he's completely up himself, which is not something I ever thought about the original Kakashi voice. I mean sure, original Kakashi says a similar thing, but it comes off completely differently.

Well, he didn't strike me as sinister the whole time (especially not when he was talking about "losers", but that's the dub script's fault, not the actor's), but that was the general impression I got, especially at the very end.

Personally I didn't get a condescending kinda vibe from him though.

I hate Naruto's voice >.< But Kakashi's could be better, oh well, it could be worse...I guess...;___; *wishes she could have heard Ebisu voice. Fears for Haku*

I didn't really expect Dave Wittenburg as Kakashi but he isn't toooooooo bad. Of course, I was hoping for Steve Blum before the show ever started but eh, what goes is their decision

I know what you mean about expecting Steve Blum. After he was announced as Kakashi I started watch older episodes of the sub while picture his voice and I liked the combination. I guess adapting the script and voicing a major character was too much to do, but thankfully he'll be Zabuza so we won't be completely without his voice.

Darn, I hate Kakashi's voice, he tries to sound indiferent and cool and it sounds like he's reading a book. That's gonna take A LOT getting used to. And WTF they did with translation there??? He never called Naruto a loser!!!

Naruto is so much better but Sakura sounds worse than last time. (Though that could partly be because of the crappy line they gave her, 'but you'll be in danger sensei' really makes a lot more sense to my way of thiking.)

No, it's Dave Wittenberg. Crispin is voicing Ebisu, and is doing a great job of it.
