chuunin_archiveI'm curious of other people's opinions on this. I haven't seen this discussed here, but if it is and somebody knows the post, please direct me.
my question: who could possibly be the Sixth Hokage, if not Naruto? I've seen one with Shikamaru, which kinda worked, since he has the smarts to be there. But to be honest, i don't think he has the power to be considered the strongest ninja in Konoha. Any other ideas on who might be able to fill Tsunade's shoes, or is Naruto really it?

Hinata is strong, but shy, so if she were to come out of her shell, that may work. Kiba knows the importance of his comrades, though his personality is a bit brash. Shino has a lot of good qualities in a leader, but he is a bit aloof for the position, same for Sasuke (if he was still in Konoha).
Shika is brilliant, but lazy and that could be a bad thing. Ino...I just don't see Ino in a powerful position such as that and Chouji, well no, I don't think he would do well either. I also don't think Ino or Chouji could get strong enough to be Hokage, and the same w. Shika...he's brilliant but his actual strength with fighting isn't as high as some of the others.
Lee would be awesome, but he's a bit too passionate and lord forbid if he got ahold of some alcohol. Neji is strong but has that grudge and too much of a loner. TenTen...I don't think she is a very filled out character. We never learn a lot about her, which is sad b.c she's one of the very few strong women who aren't "puppy dogs" to the boys they have crushes on. She would probably make a good Hokage, if we knew more about her.
I think I covered them all...I really don't know who else would be good for it besides Naruto but I also think that the show would be horribly incomplete and just wrong for Naruto to not end up Hokage, mainly for the point that the position holds more for him and the symbolic acceptance by the people of Konoha.

Date: 2005-09-23 02:50 am (UTC)i agree wholeheartly that Naruto should get the position not only symbolically, but he fits it perfectly. i just noticed in my fics that take place in the future that i always stick Naruto into the Sixth's position automatically. trying to spice things up, i thought i would see if anybody else could justfy someone else getting the spot. you bring up good points about everybody and solidifies it for me that Naruto should be Sixth.

Date: 2005-09-23 02:55 am (UTC)...I mean technically speaking Naruto could be accepted by the village w.o becoming Hokage and therefore it would no longer be necessary for him to want the 6th's spot (I want to type out Rokudaime but I know I'll mispell it).
I think Sakura or TenTen (if you filled out her character) would be an interesting twist to the Hokage spot...

I think that Naruto's generation, at times, are more mature than Gai and Kakashi's, who seem to be just a load of big kids (nothing wrong w. that).
But hey, if you'd follow him, maybe you should kidnap him and make him the head of your own hidden village ~_^

He has been consumed by vengence and I can just see Sasuke dieing in battle against either Itachi, or even Oro, or a great scene would be a battle against Konoha and Sound and Sasuke saving Naruto's life by sacrificing his own...
...I do think it would be nice to see something within Sasuke that would suggest that Naruto's friendship hadn't been lost on him, however, I don't see anyway he can possibly come back to Konoha after his defection and still live peacefully.

Date: 2005-09-23 05:14 am (UTC)I think I understand what you mean, and that what I said kind of defeats him overcoming the demon and just being a good kid who does things his own way. I actually just said it because we were discussing Hokage stuff and I was thinking of the Fourth. ^^;
But...I'd like to see him put aside his dream to help other people. Sacrifice himself to save the village even if they don't accept or believe in him. I wouldn't mind seeing both Naruto and Sasuke dying and Sakura becoming Hokage, but I understand that would miff some people.
Gai was a half-joke because he and Lee are my favorite characters. I don't think it's a job that would be good for him or that he would even enjoy/want.

SO I believe Sasuke will (like Kakashi) angst and become hokage to fullfill Naruto's dreams (Maybe Naruto's face will be carved on the mountain thing and the people will call him the greatest hokage evar!)
