[identity profile] jwhitter.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] chuunin_archive
Hi, I am a new live journal user. I just joined live journal because I want to start a Naruto roleplay on here eventually. The users on caleida don't seem to really be into it as much as people on here.

Anyway, hello, I thought I could meet some other Naruto fans on the internet in this community. (So feel free to add me if you want. Most of my journal will probably be related to my interpretation of naruto events or about my effort to create a naruto roleplay.)

Okay, I am adding this to make this post not break the rules (I hope).

I was wondering if anyone can give me some tips for creating/modding a naruto roleplay community on live journal.

Thanks. :)

Well, there's one called [livejournal.com profile] _rokudaime_ That's still alive, and has been for a long time. I mean, it's not all that up-to-date or organized in any way, but it'll give you an idea. [livejournal.com profile] narutohs is still pretty active and organized too.

I've only created one roleplay, and it's still very active. I think that they key is a good plot/story and lots of advertisment. Talk to friends, get them to get their friends.

If you want to check out mine, check out [livejournal.com profile] sunstrokeruspg. If you want to go ahead and join a game, this one is pretty established, but we've just lost a few main characters. :3

To be honest, I think it's basically a combination of friendship and peer pressure that keep RPs running for a long time. It seems like when the RPers know each other, they want to stay more, and feel more of an obligation to their friends.
[livejournal.com profile] narphim is an rp that I'm in that's crazily active, and even though people disappear for a while there's no slowing down or dying because everyone has good relationships with the other rpers.

hmm... if you're interested in Naruto RP on Livejournal, my personal advice would be to just join one of the five zillion games that are already active. There are so many different ones (not just dead ones, I swear) that you're very likely to find one that fits you -- you might take a look at [livejournal.com profile] rp_no_jutsu for starters.

If you're determined to start your own, personally, I think the most important thing is make sure your playerbase is composed of people you're going to enjoy working with. The experience is so much easier and more fun for everyone when the players can become friends instead of just anonymous character usernames.

Also, here's an obligatory pimp for my RPG, Scarlet Spiral (http://greatestjournal.com/~scarlet_spiral/) on Greatestjournal XD That's another great journal site to try if you're interested in RP, it hosts tons and tons of roleplays of all stripes.

Well, I'm pretty new to the naruto rping but from what I see from the rp I am in, being polite and understanding is good because you develop relationships with the rpers. But also you have to know when to put your foot down about inactivity. Plus regularly moving the plot and throwing out new ideas.

Good luck with the whole rp thing! There are a lot already, so you'll have to be either very imaginative or very charming to make it successful! But, you do write in full sentences, which automatically gives you a head-start nowadays. *weeps at the state of English* XD

Welcome to LJ, by the way! Nice to meet you! ^o^
