Hidey ho!
Okay, about Tobi:

So, the biggest theory I've heard floating around about this new Akatsuki guy is that he's actually Obito. I for one this this is a little lame, and was kind of hoping you all had loads more theories for we gossip whores to drool over! That or your thoughts and comments about this one here.

Wow, another hello! Guess what? [livejournal.com profile] narutohs just had a massive revamp, and we have so many free spaces, it's like... well, free character heaven, I guess. o.O Anyways, if you're into that whole highschool, running around pot-smoking kankuro thing, you should totally come hang with us. Because we love you. And make good pies.

Well...Tobi seems so far like an bit of a moron (Tobi's a good child!) and though I didn't pay great attention to the Gaiden I don't remember Obito being a moron...a slacker perhaps, but then some of the best people are. ;)

Every time somebody new appears, loads of people say 'oh *this* has to be Obito!' ... well, at least people have stopped saying Sir Leader is Obito! lol.

All we know about Tobi is that he is reasonably sized and shaped, male, wears a mask (probably) with a spiral on it (...A spiral! Is he Naruto in disguise! Or...could he be Yondaime! lol) and knows Zetsu well enough to be polite to him and not to mind too much when Zetsu (correctly) tells him he is an utter idiot. He's a desperate Akatsuki fanboy and wants to be a member so much.

I accept that this is fine; doesn't everyone. ^^ He might or might not 'get in'; it's not dependant, I don't think, on their being an 'open place'.

Orochimaru was never replaced so I see Akatsuki membership numbers as fluid, being at their lowest 8 (without Sasori danna un *cries many many tears*) and at their highest, 11 (those few seconds when Sir Leader was kind and noble enough to consider Yuura and his unnamed friend members before they died and Zetsu ate them)....

Mind you, the ring issue is placed into the spotlight once more; Tobi felt that to find it was significant, Deidara is keen to find his, and Orochimaru still keeps his...

What does it all mean? :DDD

Well, considering they all say different things... Jeez, I bet it's like a big code that I'm gonna be like WTF WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT when it's over -_-

But if Tobi is even made a member (*is now thinking about Akatsuki graduation...certificates...flowers...proud Mom and Dad...*) will he be given Sasori's ring as he seems to think? Or will he be given his own? If he is then we who think about these things have to wonder whether the rings are about the purpose of Akatsuki or the person wearing them...^^

Oh, true...
Sasori's says South, right? Kisame's West, or something... Itachi's Red.

Sasori's is actually Jade, or Sphere. Kisame's is South, Itachi's is Red. Deidara's is blue, Sir Leader's is Nothing or Zero (Rei, hence we sometimes call him Rei sama), and Zetsu's is probably Inoshishi, The Boar (zodiac sign), based on what could be reckoned from the kanji that appeared when the summons activated and his position on the summons.

Some people have theorised that the kanji on the rings may have to do with Chinese astrology, or possibly 9 Ki astrology. I have looked into it myself and it's interesting. ^^

I'm not caught up on the manga at all, but based on sheer observation of the name Tobi, it's similar to Obito. Not that that really means anything but nothing like... come on. Nothing like anagraming your name to disguise oneself, ne? Think of Final Fantasy 6. Edgar = Gerad? Sheer genius.

Please lj-cut this post. Considering Tobi only appeared in the most recent chapter of the manga, it constitutes a giant spoiler.

If I don't hear back from you in a few minutes, I'm going to delete it; you're welcome to repost afterwards, just as long as the mentions of Tobi are lj-cut.

Thanks!

Basically I'd be saying the same thing as I posted, so...

Already talked about Tobi there ^^

Really? I would think it would be multiplied. Not only would he have to face whatever disabilities Obito may have survived with (including loss of memory, I would assume), he now has the eye of his very alive friend. Kakashi seems to me like a character that takes on guilty swiftly--I imagine he would fully blame himself for Obito's current state.

I really think Rin is dead, and I hope it stays that way. Obito adds angst to the story based on how he died and who he once was. Rin would not have that effect.

I agree with that, way too many characters live..though I'm not sure if that's much different from other series I have watched. I have to wonder if that standard will still apply by the end of this arc though. ^^

Narutofan was on a huge uproar. Basicaly it started with Obito almost equal to an anagram of Tobi (it is just missing one character).

Personally, I don't think Tobi is a moron. "Tobi is a good boy" was actually said by Zetsu's otherside. And I think Tobi dropping the ring was more of an omen than anything else.

A lot of people think that Zetsu's cannibalism has some reguritating regenerative abilities and since that Zetsu is from the Hidden Grass Village and Obito died from the Hidden Grass village- he would have wanted to sharingan and saved Obito.

But there is too much leaps of faith to take...

I can't believe no one thought of this possibility. It's so obvious that Tobi is really Obi Wan because... look at their names!! And we know Obi Wan has no qualms about changing his name *coughbencough*

I mean, duh.

(This isn't a bash against you, but more a bash against those Obito-crazed people who claim that every mysterious person is either Obito, Yondaime, or Shisui >.>)
