Where did this stupid theory that Yondaime's name is Uzumaki Arashi come from? like.. Okay, i can understand the Uzumaki part, but when the hell was "Arashi" ever mentioned. It pisses me off. Also, How come no one's ever suggested Uzumaki Jiraiya huh? D:

I have noticed that there is a general trend in some corners to declare that every new character/unexplained character is a)related to Naruto, b)related to sasuke, c)is the mythical third sharinghan user or is d)either the Yondaime, Rin, Obito or Shisui Uchiha...

well i can understand how they would assume that yondaime is related to naruto, i mean, the resemblence and all that, the ability to master his jutsu relatively easily.. but, you know, this Arashi thing pisses me off.

Any particular reason? :) It's a nice enough name. I guess fanfic writers felt they needed a name as Yondaime is a bit formal if you were writing him familiarly...

...Like I cal Sir Leader sama of the akatsuki Rei sama sometimes (it's the kanji on his ring and is better than nothing for now. ^^)

Er, the only place I can recall hearing the name Arashi was from a Sasunaru fanfic. But, maybe someone else used it before the fic. Not sure >.> and Jiraiya doesn't seem like father material. That would make Naruto's life even sadder cuz then he'd be a bastard child. *pets Naruto-kun* I'd be more excited if my daddy were a hokage and not a pervert (but then if the pervert is Jiraiya...hrmm...)

On the scroll Naruto signs to make the pact with Gamabunta, there are other names there. One was Jiraiya's and someone somewhere thought they could read "Arashi" as the name next to Jiraiya's. Since we know Yondaime summoned Gamabunta, it was a convenient assumption.

It's just fanon.

I believe they derived 'Arashi' from the frog summoning scroll during when Naruto sign his name in blood on the scroll. And the name (or at least what they could make of) was Arashi. I believe that was the situation.

And I think Arashi means 'storm'. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, that's where it came from (and what it means) but actually, the spot on the scroll where Yondaime's name would be is 100% illegible. Hell, you can barely read Jiraiya's name next to it.

Well, to be redundant- on the frog summoning scroll there were a couple of names on there.

One bore resembalance to the name "Uzamaki Arashi" in the kanji but in the end many people said it was way too messy to make a positive statement. So it's still up in the air.
