Well, it's nearing X-mas time and that naturally leads to me thinking "what awesome video games are out there for people to get me?" I just discovered Lyk-Sang and I have a question for any Naruto imports players:

Has anyone played the Narutimate games? How difficult would they be for someone who has a limited understanding of Japanese? (as in, I read the kanas fine but I am rather lacking in Kanji, and high-level grammar is a mystery to me).

It shouldnt be all that difficult. When I bought the first one, I didn't really..know where to go and what to do. So what I did, was that I explored all of the options, and then took down which options were which, so when I wanted to keep on playing all I had to do was look at my notes. :O I found it easier with the Gamecube versions though.

I own most of the versions. THe games are awesome and once you get the hang of where most of the options itll be easy. Plus thers translations all over the internet that can help you.

Do you have a modded PS2? NH games are PS2-only.

I haven't played them, but I've watched many videos of it, and it is well known that NH games are more for single player, and GNT games are multiplayer-oriented (by far). I've heard more than a few opinions that the NH games aren't very fun and that the fighting system is a bit broken, but I can't vouch for that myself. I can at least tell you that I have GNT3, and even though GNT4 has very few improvements over 3 (a couple new mechanics, a handful of new characters), I plan on getting it because it's that much fun.

As far as navigating these games, GameFAQs.com always has what you need if you need translation. My "knowledge" of Japanese is currently limited to hearing certain phrases (those overused in anime), but I can make my way around GNT3 without a problem.
