Kanji for Sai

It's late and I'm going to be random, but with a purpose that will reveal itself in the next few days or so.

Anywho, can anyone tell me what the kanji for Sai's name means? I know he said he found the name fitting, and I'm amassing an analysis of such that the definition might be of use to. I tried looking it up myself, but all the scans I have are so bad that I can't get a good enough look at the kanji to translate it. I was hoping someone else could help.

I think Sai's name was written in katakana, not kanji.

Sai can mean benevolent, closed, shut, covered, stronghold, fortress, parallel, together, purify, companion, difference, or (yes) rhinocerous. There are like 100 different kanji that can be read as "sai".

Didn't Danzou make some reference to Sai's name having something to do with weaponry becuase Sai is " a weapon of Root" or something? Maybe I'm just insane and watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles too much as a kid...
