Do we have any idea how Kakashi got the Mangekyou Sharingan?
Why does Hinata look a LOT like Neji?

You can't copy the Mangekyou Sharingan. If it were that easy, then all the Uchiha would have had it.

He got it because he is Kakashi and must have hideous global approval cheese. But we still love him. ^^

I don't think that's mangekyou...it's been discussed before (long time ago or else I'd point you to the post). It looks ALOT like it, but it's not mangekyou.

When he activates it, there is a GIANT, impossible-to-miss kanji caption right next to his eye that says "Mangekyou Sharingan".

Sorry, I don't have a pic of the scanlation handy.

Haha now I remember. But I swear there was a debate about it awhile back when the chapter first came out comparing the 2...the general consensus was that it wasn't the same as Itachi's, even if he said specifically "mangekyou". Damn, I wish I had the link to that post so I don't sound like a complete crackhead XD

Since I can't find the post, here's the pictures that show the 2 sharingans. They're not the same, even if it says right on the page "mangekyou". Kakashi's might be similar in power, but it's not the same as Itachi's.

Link to it cause I'm too lazy to crop it (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v617/sxylilwitch/naruto_ch276_p04.png)

Yeah, I'm aware they don't look the same, but that doesn't not make it indisputably Mangekyou. :/

Sorry if I came off as a little know-it-all, it was way too early in the morning (6:00AM here) to be trying to explain myself well.

I really wasn't trying to dispute that it was or wasn't mangekyou, I was trying to explain to the original poster that they aren't the same eye (well they don't look the same anyways)...and because of that I don't think he got it the same way Itachi did (killing his best friend). That I think he just got it through hard work, and maybe studying/copying Itachi's sharingan. But that whole part never made it into my comment cause my mind doesn't function very well in the morning hehe. Sorry again XD

In either the chapter he first used it or the one after... Though I haven't read it in a while...

1. Not a clue.
2. Because Neji went back in time a few years from the current and is actually Hiashi. Who says she does? So she grew her hair out, sheesh.

As they do all over the Internet. Wikipedia's usually a good place to start looking for an answer to one's question though.

Mmm... the mangekyou debate still continues. :0 As people have said, it's not explicitly stated how he got it... but Kakashi does mention that he "came up with something new" (not a direct quote, I am indeed paraphrasing) and that he didn't slack off during the three year time jump.

My conclusion is that he developed it himself. 'Cause Kakashi's super genius like that. Yay for Kakashi.

I think he definitely developed it himself. I think it was Kishimoto's way of telling us that Sasuke wasn't wrong when he became determined to find a different way than Itachi's.

1. That's the mystery. I'm sure Kishimoto will explain it later since it was established that he should not be able to reach the full potential of the sharingan.

(Kakashi shouts Mangekyou)

2. They're cousins but genetically they are half siblings since their fathers are indentical twins.

Not at all. o.o They're still cousins. Genetics wouldn't make them half-siblings. They simply have a close genetic make up. The fact that their fathers are identical twins doesn't change it.

If that were true, that would be like saying your children and the children of your sibling would be 1/4th siblings or something like that. No, they're just cousins, right? Works the same way for the children of identical twins.

Genetics is random, no one gets exactly half of their dad's genes and half of their mom's. You can get 1/4th of dad's and a 1/4th of paternal grandma's, then 1/4th of mom's and 1/4th great-great-grandpa whoever.

Genetics and geneotypes are random yes, and if they were just twins they would just be cousins. But identical twins share the exact same genetic makeup. That means, genetically, it would be the same as if Hiashi had Hinata with one woman, and Neji with another; they won't be the same but they are still considered half siblings.

Each parents give their children their genes that makes up the genotype. However, the phenotype depends on which gene is the dominate or recessive gene.

I thought you could only get the Mangekyou, if you killed the person most important to you or something like that. I don't see Kakashi doing this, so maybe that is easist way to do it, and their are other harder ways to do it, which Kakashi figured out. The pcitures of the eyes do not even remotely look the same. I wonder if they can do different things? I wonder which is stronger Kakashi or Sasuke's brother? (Can never remember how to spell his name.)

As for Neji and Hinata, I think their is a lot of Inbreeding going on in that family.
