WTF is with the white text on the front? It looks like a cheap ripoff of the original jacket. Not that I've really been paying attention to the Hot Topic merchandise popping up here and there, but that's almost insulting. It's as if HT isn't really taking Naruto seriously (which they probably aren't, but ARGH).

Sometimes, I really wish America could take a more Japan-like attitude towards anime series, instead of regarding them as subcategories of 'normal' cartoon series. To be honest, not all cartoons are geared towards children! And not all fans are going to be pleased by such crummy merchandise! If you want to make money, pander to the hardcore fans and adhere strictly to the series; not only will the hardcore fans be happy, but the more casual fans'll be satisfied with the products, as well. With the way they're currently going about the entire merchandise thing, they're only grabbing the edge of the Naruto market in America - the "newbie" fans or those who are happy to get any merchandise at all.

Uh. Sorry. ^^; I started ranting there. I guess I'm annoyed. XD;;

That's the point I've been trying to get across to them for the past year now. But they have come back with a pretty good response. They do target the Cartoon Network and Adult Swim watching fans because - in truth - that is where the American market lies. All the real hardcore anime kids are more likely to import something than buy it in the States anyways. They target a larger number of people and a more likely group by doing it this way.

But that doesn't mean we have to like it. =P

My eyes, they burn. D: and considering they have Vash jackets (http://www.hottopic.com/store/product.asp?LS=0&ITEM=879372&RN=266) too (even though they don't credit the series), I'm afraid that in a year or so, when Itachi shows up in the dub, they'll have Akatsuki cloaks as well D: Probably similarily not credited, or low quality. ;_; Kowaidayo..

Really, though, I have no problem at all with Hot Topic, nor the overdrive merchandising of Naruto, but the designer of that jacket needs to be shot. Really, there's no sense to the design at all. White writing on an orange jacket it practically searing on the eyes, and the blue doesn't contrast well at all.
