I love Obito too, and Team Yondaime, the Kakashi Gaiden arc, poor kids.

Yeah, do read through the sunstrokeruspg, it's an AU where the change occurs where Gaara's mother didn't died, but set after the timeskip. There Obito didn't die (http://www.livejournal.com/community/sunstrokeruspg/tag/obito), a medi-nin family in Iwa took him in as their own, and Iwagakure is kinda like Konoha in that because they are ninja villages, they are harsh, but there is life and kindness too. unknown_past is good, that Iwa!Obito is so Obito, so cracked throughout the rp yet refuse to break, still can be kinda happy.

sunstrokeruspg is also awesome, because in addition to players only being brought in and kept on if they keep their characters IC, it's actually readable because they have mods that manage the timeline (http://www.livejournal.com/community/sunstrokeruspg/8624.html) and stuff. Each entry has a day attach to it. In RL time July, many of their entries were still set in May 28th - Jun 1st because that's where the major action was then.

Obito is underappreciated, but what fandom there is seem to love him
