Recently I joined a new RP on greatestjournal, hidden_leaves, as Naruto and Neji. The RP is really well organized, and the plot is really awesome.
Basically, Itachi didn't really kill the Uchiha clan, and was using the Akatsuki as a cover. He was a spy. Sasuke escapes from Orochimaru and tries to kill him, but Itachi turns around and saves him from the rest of Akatsuki, obliterating the group. They return to Konoha, and soon after, Orochimaru counterattacks Konoha in revenge. This time, however, he doesn't take Sasuke back...he takes Neji.
All of the players are really nice and IC, and yaoi is accepted. The mods try to make sure that everyone gets their time to shine. :D There's also a separate crack community, where you're given situations like "your character has just changed genders!" and everyone logs it out.
The following characters are needed, in order from most needed to least:
Sasuke
Jiraiya
Tsunade
Asuma
Temari
Sakura
Hinata
Tenten
Gai
There are plenty of other characters open as well, but those are the ones most needed right now. If you're interested, please go and fill out an application! I did it on a whim, and I definitely haven't regretted it :D
