The day the world ended.

A normal wednesday afternoon came and went for the girl. She was like any other girl; she had her hobbies, she loved being with her friends, and she hated school. She was an avid manga fan, and was currently hung-up over the time-jump of Naruto, one of her favorite manga.
Cruising a single Naruto forum was really enough for her, since this one supplied RAW chapters earlier than any other. And, despite predictions of a certain character's return, the girl thought that this chapter would be like any of the others from the past few weeks; lots of talking.
She had no idea of how wrong she was.
Clicking onto the "Latest Releases" thread, the girl sat idly infront of her computer, watching the screen as it loaded.. and loaded, and loaded. "What the..?" she arched a brow, then stood and left to go grab a drink. Her computer, a mac in it's prime, did tend to be a little wonky when it came to loading pages; but, after a few minutes, it would usually load a page to it's entirety.
The girl returned, and the page still wasn't there. "Huh.." she frowned, then reached to click out of the screen. It had to be site traffic, and she could wait. In fact, she still had to finish re-playing Kingdom Hearts--
An explosion rang outside on the street. The girl doubled back, shrieking, before springing to her feet and looking out onto the horror that had just been bestowed upon her city.
Powerlines were blazing with fire. Cars were mere husks of what they once were. People screamed in the streets. "What.. what's going on..?!" the girl's voice cracked, and she turned on her TV, her heart pounding.
The news, which was already on, showed a barely lit newsroom and a shaky display of two reporters, shaking, obviously scared out of thier wits.
"Ch-chaos sweeps across the world due to the internet.. i-imploding." the female reporter sobbed.
"What..!?" the girl slowly slumped onto the floor.
"Due to overexcessive use, piracy, and fandom, the internet imploded under two minutes ago. The stock market crashed shortly after, and all clocks, due to th fact that they now solely rely on the internet to tell the international times, stopped. Due to this, many power companies have shut down, and battles between countries have extended to a full-blown wars."
".. Within two minutes?!" The girl cocked her head to the side, "Something's weird about this.."
"Experts say that this may just be the end of the world as we know it. The cause being.. the cause.." the female reporter began, but could not finish.
".. Masashi Kishimoto's latest chapter of Naruto, a series read by the world once every week. It appears that a character.. Sahsookeh.. has appeared, and due to so many people downloading, the internet was ultimately destroyed only an hour after the first images of Sahsookeh were released."
".. You have got to be kidding me."
Shortly after, the world exploded, Deidara cackling as he ran off to live on Mars.
