Okay, in the Naruto series, when Kakashi is talking about the byuuken (forgive the spelling if its wrong) he says that it's powerful enough to see the flow of chakra and its points, but he mentions that the sharingan isn't even that powerful, but in Kakashi Gaiden Obito can see the flow of chakra?

Did I miss something here?

That may be a plothole . . . however, I believe Kakashi said that Sharingan can't see the Tenketsu.

Neji's Byakugan specifically can see tenketsu, chakra holes, which are very very small and difficult to see. Kakashi said that even his Sharingan couldn't see it. The seen we saw in the Kakashi Gaiden was from Obito's view of the situation, and Kakashi's sharingan has repeatedly been said to not be as strong as a "true" sharingan user.

Make of it what you will, but it's not really a plothole. ^-^;

The Sharingan can't see the chakra ports, Tenketsus. It can, however, see the flow of it, like in an illusion or ninjutsu, there is a certain "flow" that can make it easy to see through it.

Chakra is visible to the sharingan as it is to the byakugan, but sharingan can't see tenketsu.

Let's just say Obito is better than all the other Uchiha (which he is), and his powers did not transfer to Kakashi. There.

Obito can see vague chakra movement. What he saw of the chakra in the body wasn't exactly crystal clear.

The Byakugan sees it all down to fine details like where it emerges, the path it travels, etc. That's the difference.

First came the Sharingan... then through time it evolved in to the Byakugan. Basically, Byakugan is the exact same thing as Sharingan besides the fact Sharingan can't see Tenketsu chakra points in which the chakra flows around the organs. Also, Byakugan is able to transmit light from behind them, and by using chakra to the doujutsu eye technique, the user can see almost 360 degree's around them, where Sharingan actually uses chakra within the third pupil to transmit quicker signals to the brain, making the user predict another persons movements before they actually happen, which I personally like better than Byakugan.

Sharingan is able to see the color(Usually blue) and emination of Chakra, like when someone uses Kage Bunshin, the Sharingan can see a cloud of blue as what the replications are rather than actual bodies while seeing the real one easily. Byakugan can do the same, though it an see deeper inside the flow of chakra like I said before... the Tenketsu.

Kakashi has a very advanced Sharingan actually, but he can't as easily use it with only one eye being Sharingan due to the fact that the chakra from the eye doujutsu transmits to the brain at a slower pace. Also, Kakashi can't hold in chakra in his eyes like Sasuke or Itachi since it's limited more-so to just that one eye of his. If Kakashi was Uchiha, he'd have an amazingly advanced Sharingan. I mean come on... He has a one eyed Mangekyou.

Oh and by the way, Obito only developed the two pupil Sharingan, which only imitates movement after seeing it. He doesn't have the third pupil to predict movement before it's made by the chakra, though he can see chakra flow just like any other Sharingan user... though since he was unadvanced at the time, he probably couldn't channel the doujutsu properly yet.

i thought it was the byakugan first.
and from the blood line being watered down from breeding and such the sharingan was born.

yes, byakugan was first, sharingan came later. basically sharingan is a run-off. it's not actually more powerful than byakugan other than being able to copy techniques easily (which someone with byakugan could probably learn to do i'm sure) and the mangekyou. in the series, it's stated that the uchiha clan was *one of* the most powerful clans, but it's also mentioned that the hyuuga clan is the "first house" per se, or the most powerful over all.

of course I could just be on crack, but i'm pretty positive that is all correct. also forgive my poor typing at 6am.

I've always assumed that before the Uchiha were killed they were just as powerful as the Hyuuga, but after they were destroyed the other clan became the "first house".

Yeah, Byakugan came first, dude. And I wasn't aware that it could transmit light from behind them... you sure about that? And I'm not sure if the Sharingan sees a cloud of blue for KAGE bunshins. Oboro Bunshins, perhaps, regular old Bunshins, perhaps, but as for Kage bunshins, where does it state/show that the sharingan can see through this technique in order to find the real ninja? Not even the Byakugan can see through this... And I'm not sure if chakra is being transmitted from the eye doujutsu to the brain at a slower pace... isn't it just that the sharingan is more taxing upon Kakashi, considering that he doesn't have Uchiha blood flowing through his veins? I dunno where you got this information...

but yeah, you might want to double-check your theories.

...oh god, for the "byakugan flashlights" are you referring to the anime when they activate it? Dear lord... refer to the manga as canon, please. The anime is just too full of inconsistencies, fillers, and made up stuff to be considered canon. Not that the anime's bad. Its just that you can't really trust a lot of the things the producers put in them. Anime producers != Kishimoto
