Kyuubi Fanart

I was talking to some friends today and one talked about how he drew fanart. I suggested he draw Kyuubi. But it turned out I decided to. I made two different versions and could decide which I liked more so Im posting them poth. Lemme know what you think.




It took me a while to make it, and I honestly think it could be a lot better.

Its my first time really ever doing fanart. Im not sure what I could have done, except maybe more time to blend stuff. Any suggestions?

It's your lines. Your coloring and actual drawing look good, but the way you've handled the coloring ruins the piece. Do you fill in the color on the same layer as your lines? What kind of pen did you use?

Well yeah I filled on the same layer, even though I shouldn't have. And I used the computers pencil tool to draw it, so not everything is as smooth as I want it to be.

ah, that's your problem. Try using the pen tool to do the lines after your initial sketch. It'll take awhile but look much better, and ALWAYS color on the layer below.

Pen tool...theres a pen tool?! *looks* Ohhh, I never thought about that, I'll have to practice with it. I usually do color on the layer below, but I got lazy I guess ^_^;. Thanks for the advice =D

I like them, and I really like the blending (...I think it's blending >>) used in the second picture, I think the black helps even out the amount of orange of the Kyuubi. But in the first 1 I like the definate features and lines he has, ecspecially in his muzzle/nose area. I like both of them, great job! ^_^

^_^; Im kind of suprised, myself. Drawing things with just a mouse and a pencil tool isn't easy.

It's not every day that we have Kyuubi fanart! Thank you for posting these. I like the way you posed Kyuubi, and good job on the fire in the background, too.

Personally, I like the second one better because the contrast makes the Kyuubi look more fierce...and...in action. (I don't know how else to explain it.)
