After seeing this I really want to challenge someone into making a comic that just has an "American"-style Naruto saying "believe it" with an "authentic" Naruto coming behind him & beating him down and the final image being of "American"-style Naruto hurt on the ground w. the authentic one standing on top of him saying "dattebayo".

I think "believe it" is cute, and a good alternative to dattebayo. It conveys exactly what dattebayo 'means', and gives Naruto a catch phrase that is viable in almost all circumstances. And yes, you're right. There's SO many worse things it could be.
