Hello, chuuniners. Being the super genius I am, I got an IDEA!
I'm going to make some fancy listing of every single Naruto roleplay out there, as a reference for people looking for one to join.

So, if you don't mind, could you tell me all of the ones you've been/are in? Or ones you've heard of? Or just ones that may or may not be specifically Naruto, but still use characters from it or are based off it? Or just... Anything?

hmm that's a really good idea. i was actually thinking about joinging one a couple days ago but i didn't know which one would suit me best. i can't help you out though 'cause i know almost nothing about rps. but it just soudns like a great idea to make a list of them ^_______^

That's a great idea. I've been wondering why there aren't any Naruto rp directory communities. Are you going to divide them into types? Like crack, AU, and... angsty?

That's what I was thinking.

I was going to make a seperate section for AU or multi-fandom, but I hadn't thought of differentiating crack and angsty. That WOULD be a good idea though. Thanks!

Shades of War (http://p105.ezboard.com/bshadesofwar), a board-based RP set during the time of the Nidaime Hokage.

Scarlet Spiral (http://scarlet-spiral.greatestjournal.com/), an ANBU RP on greatestjournal set three years after the Yondaime's death.

no_air, an AU Naruto/Bleach RP set in a run-down inner-city apartment building.

They're all excellent, with high-caliber writing and active and interested players.

I really hate it when RP ads spam none centric comms in which it would be OT, even through I enjoy following some RPs (sunstrokeruspg).

Maybe if they have a comm to ad in, things would be better. So make a comm, and whenver a new RP comes up, or they need new or replacement characters, they'll go there.

You can then make it the first post, the listing, and edit to add new as you go.

Maybe you can make two list, one for all or just the old RPs, so people can read through them afterwards, one only for the RPs that are ongoing and need members.

That's more or less what I had in mind. The first post(s) will just be lists of roleplays, sorted by genre, and the rest can be used for Naruto roleplay ads, with the aforementioned list editing as I go along.

The two lists idea is a really good one. I think I'll do that!

small_room_rp, it hasn't been updated since summer of 2004, which is a shame because I was following the stories. The RPers work it out over IM, and then they turn it into story format kinda and post it, so it was super coherent. It's AU, and they have an OOC comm too where they post smut cause actual sex between the characters doesn't happen much, at least not on screen, in the main RP.

I thought there was one, but I couldn't find it, and in hindsight, it was probably the Buffy fandom one I remembered: rpers_for_rpers

There is a general one out there (rpg_promo), but I think the Naruto fandom is big enough, and we definitely have enough RPGs, to have a Naruto RPG comm.

crossuniversity is closed at the moment, but I'm guessing that the mods will re-open the registration up soon. ^__^ It's a multi-fandom RP and Naruto characters are more than welcome.

^_^ Lessee.... I'm in two of them, actually, and know of a third.

The first Naruto-centric RP is Fuuinjutsu (http://fuuinjutsu.proboards53.com/index.cgi?), which currently has five characters taken XD;; we still need a Naruto, Sakura, Orochimaru, etc etc etc. It's somewhat active, as we have an Itachi and Sasuke already and they keep doing fun disturbing interesting RPs. We're pretty chill, though, and always taking new characters!

The other one I'm in is mugenjou_high, which isn't Naruto-centric, but has a lot of Naruto characters in it (Itachi, Sasuke, Naruto, Sasori, Gaara, etc). We actually just got though with a Naruto plot, and might have sort-of one again coming up soon @_@;; but really, it takes characters from all fandoms!

For anyone reading...it's based ten years after the beginning of the Naruto manga, containing drama, humour, action...a little of everything. RP is mostly in IRC, though some players will RP on AIM. It started in October 2004. All other info can be found at the community.
