I don't know -- we haven't seen either of their full strenght. We have to take a lot of things into account -- Orochimaru's "here! I shed teh skin 8D" or ability to JUST GET UP WHAT IS HE A SHOUNEN RETARD?!, and Itachi's "hi I'm blind lolz".

I still say Orochimaru said Itachi was more powerful then him because he goes jutsu = power and we really don't know how many jutsu Itachi has copied, but we can bet it's a whole lot. Meaning that we really don't know if Itachi is truly stronger then Orochimaru.

Orochimaru left Akatsuki because Itachi was stronger than him, and his strength scared him. It was stated in the manga lol, so I would have to say Itachi could woop his ass from Sound to Konoha if he wanted to.

I disagreee that Itachi would easily beat mah Oro-sama. Like it was stated above, Orochimaru left a long time ago, and things like Itachi's blindness and his lack of stamina have since been discovered.

That and Kishimoto's fear thing isn't really working. Like I said before:


Orochimaru fears Itachi, who fears Jiraiya, who couldn't beat Orochimaru (who had no use of his arms) even with Tsunade, Shizune, and Naruto.

It pretty much just doesn't make sense at all.

Orochimaru left Akatsuki because the only reason he joined was to fulfill his mission of getting Sharingan, but he left when he realized Itachi was far superior to him and had no chance of ever defeating him.

3 years later up to the time jump, Orochimaru has gotten more powerful, as anyone would, including with his scientific ninjutsu, having of course progressed, learning more and more jutsu as his personal immortal mission has granted him, but of course, time makes a person stronger, and Itachi of course had to of become greater as well.

Itachi didn't recently start having eyesight problems. It's a backlash of the Mangekyou Sharingan, and he can't use only the Mangekyou version for more than a typical period of 5 minutes without having to recover. Kakashi did mention "So... how bad has your eyesight gotten?", but that doesn't mean his eyesight is exactly bad. The acceleration of blindness in a person just goes quicker due to the strenuous amount of damage from high chakra output. He still has the regular Sharingan normally, and even if Orochimaru had it, it wouldn't top Itachi's.

Itachi's shinobi record is more outstanding than Orochimaru's, or any other ninja in any country as far as we know, and was stated to be the greatest potential of shinobi. Orochimaru was given that title as well though.

Generally, Itachi has more experience, a bloodline limit that far surpasses that of almost every other ninja. A genius, intellectual ninja mind, and finally, natural & hardworked skills. His vision is slightly less than a typical persons after using Mangekyou. He can be a master at close-combat, but distant-combat is usually preferred by him.

Generally, Orochimaru is a dedicated ninjutsu learner, definitely surpassing the amount of mostly all ninja, having a much bigger arsenal of jutsu to get him out of sticky situations. The ability to summon different scientific creations, snake gods and serpants. He also does have some natural ability to fight and had scientifically engineered his human genes to elongate his body parts and use his innards as a container for objects like Kusanagi. He's definitely hard to take down in close-combat.

Looking over the statistics, I say that Itachi could clearly still woop Orochimaru... maybe not with as much ease as he once could, but he can definitely slaughter him. Generally though, circumstances differ... like the fight with Gaara and Deidara. Take their fight outside of Sunagakure and the odds are if Gaara didn't have to waste nearly all his chakra to save his village even if he knew he was gonna be tricked, he would have won since he had the entire upper hand mostly... so then again, situations can make a match tilt a whole different direction no matter how much better you are than another. Then again, is there any possible trick to be used against one another when it comes down to Oro and Itachi? It's like Itachi can care less about the world around him and Oro just laughs at all of it... so seriously, what circumstance can make things different? My vite is on Itachi... without a doubt.

I disagree. Kakashi says to Itachi, and I quote "After you used that eye jutsu, you became weary, and immediately left the fight." This suggests that if he were to fight Orochimaru,(who we witnessed in his fight with Tsunade, has a talent for dragging fights out for a long period of time,) He would be outside of his element.

And... maybe you and I have different translations... but in my version Kakashi says : "And just how much has your eyesight deteriorated?" Implying that more then just his mangekyou would be bothered by the whole thing.

It seems that if Itachi lost the ability to use the Tsukiyomi he would hardly be able to match up to someone of such calibre of Orochimaru. I stick to my earlier assumption that Orochimaru would be able to beat Itachi...

Actuallly... I think that at best, they would kill each other off. It just seems inevitable anyways. The whole thing is much too complicated for its own good. >.>;;

Hmm. It'd be a close battle, I think. Itachi could Mangekyou Orochimaru, and it depends on whether or not Mr. Snake-face has enough chakra strength to break it. If he can't, then it's over for Orochimaru. If he can, then there's a possibility that he might be able to overpower Itachi. Of course, we haven't been able to see exactly what Itachi can do yet, only that he's powerful enough to decimate an entire clan all on his own. Lots of ifs.

On another train of though, I love my fandom. Not just for all the crack responses, but for the fact that this hasn't turned into a total wank fests. On any other community, that would've been the case. I love you guys. ♥
