Kotetsu/Izumo cosplay help again, maybe?

HAY GUYS. 8D

You probably remember me as the Kotetsu/Izumo obsessed freak who keeps posting utter nonsense nobody cares about around here, but much to your guys' disgust I have returned!

So, me and my friend are cosplaying as Kotetsu and Izumo at Anizona this weekend, and we're nearly finished with our costumes and all... but we could use some suggestions about the stuff we're missing.



Now, I know the shirt/jacket/whatever isn't perfect, but do you have ANY IDEA how hard it is to find long-sleeved shirts/anything in Arizona this time of year? Much less grey. D: It's not easy, let me tell you.

I'm going to do some custom tailoring to make what we've got work better, so ignore that and pretend it looks good. >> Nyar.

Now... none of that really had anything to do with anything, I just didn't want to ask questions without having contributed anything. *killed*

SO, we're all Narutards here, I'm sure some of you have cosplayed at one point or another, m'yessss?

What exactly is the best/easiest/most effective way of working out those open-toed boots/sandals/whatever-the-heck-they-are that all ninjas seem to be required to wear? Is there a specific talent to figuring those out, or should I grab a hack-saw and destroy an old pair of army boots? *shot*

also if anyone has any black wigs they could somehow magically teleport to me before this friday, I'll be your bestest friend for life

I made my own pattern and everything for them....I had some black fabric laying around, so mine are pin-fitted and tailored to fit me perfectly. However, I haven't gotten around to finishing them off, but I'm stitching them to a cheap-as-hell pair of sandals I got at Wal-mart.

Basically two side pieces, center piece, and some small straight pieces to use for the nice cuffs on the end. All made out of black stretch denim. I'll finish 'em off soon and get some pictures up.

Get the hair and I think you'll make a pretty good Kotetsu.

http://liz.spain.googlepages.com/narutosandaltutorial is a really good tutorial, and it has excellent pictures to go along with the steps. You also might want to do a search for "Naruto sandals" on the cosplay.com forums, there's tons of tutorials floating around there. :)

Looks good so far! ^^ For the shirt, if you can't find what you need, you could probably find a pattern very similar to his and make it yourself. It shouldn't be too hard, I don't think..

the easiest way I found was to build them over a pair of cheap blue sandals, and from there its mainly two pieces shaped like you'r foot's side and a band for the top for each one... not too hard to do even without a pattern

oh my gosh! its kotetsu from anizona! (i was the temari that hung out with the gaara and kankurou) you guys were awesome! i promptly went into a flurry of underrated-ninja-fangirldom when i got home, thanks to you ;-)

lol, i swear im not a creepy stalker...i was just catching up on all the chuunin action ive missed lately *shakes fist at school* and recognized you :-)
