A Question about Arms

I'm going to spoiler-cut my weird question, because maybe some people have only read halfway through the manga... like me 8D



Ok, so, I noticed a pattern with characters losing the use of their arms. First there was Zabuza, then Orochimaru... but I know at least one other character lost their arms, and I just can't remember who it was. So would anyone well-versed in Naruto lore care to tell me what other characters lose the use of their arms, and when? I don't care about spoilers, by the way XD I just want to know.

Deidara loses the use of one of his arms fighting aginst Gaara, and the other one Kakashi blows off. He's the only one I can remember right now besides the ones you said already XD

Uh, that Sound ninja, Zaku, the one that was hanging out with Dosu and Kin during the Chuunin exam. Shino used his bugs to plug up the air vents in Zaku's arms and the air pressure built up and destroyed his arms.

Yeah and before that Sasuke pwned one of his arms when he was all curse sealy scariness. Poor Zaku. Everyone picks on his arms.

Sasuke breaks his arms and then Shino blows one of them completely off. Poor Zaku. ;_;

Itachi break Sasuke's arm when they meet up again. And the battle between Sasuke and Naruto, didn't Sasuke puncture causing his arm to not work right before he goes into kyuubi mode.

It was his left that he couldn't move according to my scanlation. Sasuke punctured his right lung. I think the reason for that was to show that going kyuubi does its own damage to Naruto's body as well as healing injuries.

Either way, his arm does get pwned XD

There also seems to be a big thing about great power causing great damage to a character. Lee, for one. Tsunade with her healing seal on her forehead. Naruto and the Kyuubi, Chouji and those pills. XD;;; Yeah...

Itachi going blind due to mangekyo, thats the same sorta thing too.

Sasuke chidori's a hole in Naruto's chest, which temporarily makes him lose the ability to use his right arm...at least, until fox powers kick in. But when you think about it, arms are very important in Naruto. Arms (and more specifically, hands) allow for one to perform seals and thus do jutsu. When the arms are damaged or gone, then doing any jutsu becomes near impossible, as evidence with Orochimaru.

Ja, that's pretty self-evident and kind of the reason I'm trying to catologue all the instances it happens in :3 It's definitely a conveniant way to knock out a character's power... XD

and the one sound ninja in the chuunin exams... sasuke breaks his arms really badly. and that other one that shino like... destroyed his arms. he used the chakra bugs to block the airways in his arms or something. um lert's see... gaara crushes lee's left arm but he doesn't lose his arm XD that'd be so horrible. and uhhh itachi break sasuke's arm when they meet up for thr first time after the massacre.

Arms are just very popular to destroy in manga period. I can not think of one manga I've read that hasn't had someone at least break an arm.

Inari's "fake" dad lost both his arms and both his legs. They seemed ripped off.

He was but a living torso.
