A sort of halfway reminder to anyone in London, or near enough to find going there feasible ... gatty and myself (mostly her) are organising a little get-together so that a bunch of us can whine about the fact that Naruto basically doesn't exist in England, because misery loves company loser about, meet new folks and not feel like completely lonery morons for fangirling noisily in public places. Or, as Gatty put it, "go, DUDE YOU LIKE NARUTO, hey SO DO YOU. MAN THIS IS SOME CRAZY SHIT".

We're meeting on Tuesday 30th May at one o'clock outside Forbidden Planet. If you don't know how to get to Forbidden Planet, that's okay – you can either try to find a map to it and get hopelessly lost (you will get hopelessly lost, trust me), or find gatty inside Tottenham Court Road tube station between 12:45 and 1:15. Look for the tall lass with some kind of Naruto-conspicuous sign taped to her, or possibly one that says 'HI I'M GATTY' if my sign-making skills get lazy. She'll take the people who gather there to Forbidden Planet.

On that note, make yourself in some way conspicuous. Tying any item of merchandise you have to you works, or you could make yourself a little sign that indicates beyond reasonable doubt what you're there for, and then surreptitiously take it out of your bag and hold it up hopefully when you see what looks like a clump of Narutards. If you want to cosplay, be our guest; you'll most likely be in the minority, but you'll be hella noticeable so that's all good.

We'll probably mill round Forbidden Planet a bit and then probably go 'round some other places if anyone's got anything to recommend, and then go and get lunch (or get lunch first if anyone's really hungry). And hang out companionably until so many people have gone home that the only people left feel like losers. It's probably a good idea to bring some money so you can, you know, get food. And buy tat.

Anyway, if you can definitely come, please leave a comment and let us know you're certain; we'd like to get an idea of how many people are coming for sure (tell us if you're bringing anyone with you). If you've got any questions, feel free to ask 'em here :3 Or, you know, just let us know you really wish you could come but you're in a different country/participating in a charity event/holding a revolutionary meeting/bathing your robot that day.

Aw, damn! I'd love to go, but the timing's all off. I'm in Germany right now, and will have to stop over in London for a couple hours on the way home, but that's not until early June. Not to mention that there's no way in hell could I make it from Heathrow to Forbidden Planet and back in any semblance of two hours. ^^;

I'll swing by FP around 1:30pm to see what's happening, I don't have any Naruto merch, woe be me. But I'll try russle up a bandana-esque thing XD

Also I dunno what you've got planned but you can always check out the Japan Centre and Mitsokushi at Piccadilly. And there's always Chinatown. The latter probably being more suited to the anime fans, the former being good for Japanese CDs and books mainly (hella expensive though).

Yeah, pretty much the whoever-shows-and-let's-work-with-it variety. No idea exactly how many people are coming, and we don't really have any definite-definite plans, just ... see what the people who turn up feel like doing.

guess what? in sweden naruto is pretty big, but either you'd have to chose to talk to say ten-year-olds about it (and they don't undertsand the true mening of the series anyway) or try to force a positive word out of some of the other people that are way to critical and refuses to se the beauty of this (or any other) series.

nope ^^ they borrow the manga at the biblioteque (spelling? ...i suck :P) and got hooked up, ask their older brother/sisters or friends older people to download it.

the day they dub naruto to swedish and put the show up on tv is the day i'll never watch tv again in my whole life.
