I don't see SakuSasu as crack, though. because throughout the series she's been the one chasing Sasuke, and even if he is the more forceful of the two, the passive part of the pair is always in control. She was a revolutionary character used far too early in the series. If she first appeared now, it her language wouldn't be quite as shocking. That was one of my guilty-pleasure pairings, though I never really 'shipped them.

Yes, she's a wonderful provider of it.

Well, I do mean 'pillock' affectionately. I hurl abuse at him, but I love him. I think too many people think that one can't love Sasuke without worshipping the ground he walks on, when in fact, while he's definitely one of my favourite characters, he's an idiot.

In that context, "out of the ordinary" would have probably suited the sombre mood better. XD "Special" makes all the English fans laugh.

Hmm. It wouldn't have worked as well, though, would it? I mean, to make the sentence not sound clumsy ... *shrug* I think people would have laughed just as much at something like 'out of the ordinary' – the fact is that one of the main reasons the 'special' thing is funny is that it neatly sums up the fact that Sasuke is an arrogant tosser. The sentiment behind it is pretty much the same whichever exact phrasing is used, and that's what's funny – that Sasuke's saying he's ... out of the ordinary, if you like, better than the others, whatever. He's putting himself on a pedestal and we laugh at him for it.
