Observation about Chapter 308

Okay, I read the MQ Raw from Mangahelpers, and I read the translation shortly after and I noticed something; Sasuke's "Kusanagi" sword bears an odd resemblence (at least in ability)to Kakashi's "White Fang" tanto.

Think about it. When Kakashi used his tanto back during the Kakashi Gaiden, he could channel his chakra into it, causing the blade to glow, and his own chakra to turn white. I think a similar thing is happening here with Sasuke's "Chidori Current" and his sword.

Discuss?

*nods* I wondered about that too - though if I remember rightly Kakashi's ability to channel his white chakra into his tanto was referred to as either a smaller bloodline limit or a clan secret, so I have no idea how Sasuke would be able to do the same. Maybe Kishimoto's just having fun with more damn parallels?

I thought the bloodline limit/clan technique aspect was just supposed to be the white chakra, not necessarily the channeling it into the blade part. But yeah, it's definitely another way to scream "BTW HE'S THIS GENERATION'S KAKASHI, IN CASE YOU WEREN'T SURE". n.n;

Sasuke's personal modification of jutsus is amazing, I find. He did it with Lee's taijutsu that one time and the Chichi Rendan -- Lion Combo, whatever -- and posing modifications on Kakashi's very own jutsu shouldn't pose a problem. And it's not really the same, I think -- channeling chakra into objects is also something he did before, to a lesser extent sure, but he did. Now it's just ... far more chakra, far faster and far more DANGEROUS.

Kakashi's own thing, though -- he probably wouldn't have thought it to Sasuke, so Sasuke probably didn't know about it. Otherwise, he'd have used this before.
