Naruto must die!

Just a question since it seems to be the new fad of the fandom. What's with people and saying/thinking Naruto's going to die anytime before the series ends? Kishimoto does not do resurrections. When you die, that's it. Unless you were only mostly dead like in the case of a certain ninja who I won't name for sake of spoilers. But that's the only time anyone's ever skirted death, and it could still be viewed as a technicality/plot hole. As for Naruto, last time I checked his name is the title of the manga. If he dies, the manga is over, people. Maybe if the series was named "Ninja" or something, I could see killing Naruto and continuing things, but it's not. And Kishimoto would be a piss poor storyteller were he to kill off Naruto and end the series without resolving at least a few of the many goals he's set up for the story. Other characters are always a possibility, although Kishimoto has also shown himself to be quite chicken when it comes to killing off major characters. He usually only offs oppositions, oldies or flashbacks. If he's killing anyone, it's not happening anytime soon, I'd bet money on that.

I know, I must explain myself.
I don't want Naruto to be killed neither now, nor at the end of the series, so that's why I second that idea of "you can't kill the character that gives his name to the whole series", and that's why I take the risk and say that the killed will be Sasuke (although I don't want him to be killed either), if Kishimoto plans to end the things up with a sad conclusion.
It's logical to think Kishimoto must - at least - make Naruto a Hokage, if he wants to kill him someday to - for example - give us a non-cliché type of ending, which I'd rather prefer. But, I don't know why, I think the end of the story will be "happy" or at least normal ^^.

If it was anyone other than Kishimoto, I would think that Naruto is going to die. Jiraiya says he probably won't live a long life, and I think it would wrap up the series nicely if Naruto completed the circle by doing the same thing Yondaime did. Flame away.

I still say Kishimoto used a technicality on that because he's Kishimoto and he loves his sinner boys, probably more than myself. I won't go so far as to say it was logical or fair but it was a Kishi-technicality and one that I don't see him using on any but his more preferred characters. Or in Gaara's case, killing a kickass character like that in the lame way those BoyBandWannabes (excluding Itachi and Kisame) had in mind would have just been a disgrace to everything Gaara accomplished as far as character development. Either Kishimoto understood this...or he just didn't want to piss off too many fans. Kishimoto knows where the fundage comes from. He's a smart man and, from what he's indicated thus far, not big on the risk-taking as some other mangaka.

To clarify, I'm not debating the theory that Naruto may die AT THE END of the manga or a chapter before or something. I think it's stupid because unlike many of the fandom, the circle of life blah blah blah thing going on with the sennin and Team 7 seems retarded and cliched to me. Then again, I've seen doujinshi that took on the idea of the kyuubi overpowering Naruto pretty well. But I've never been one for the "kill the main character" bandwagon unless a very powerful message is being made in the process. People who claim "oh it's just how life is," I respond with that's exactly why I read fiction, to ignore how life is. Naruto being shonen also makes me doubt the likelihood of his death...and I'm going to stop now because I just realized I did exactly what I said I wasn't going to do. Damn it. It's too late for me to be thinking.

Anyway, people are free to theorize that Naruto may die by the conclusion, but theorizing that he's going to bite it anytime before that strikes me as a total dismissal of the entire fictional process. You can kill a rival, you can kill a best friend, you can kill a parental figure and you can even kill a lover, but you can't kill the main character and still expect the manga to carry on without him. Once more, dead Naruto = no more manga. All these ZOMG what if Sasuke kills Naruto needs to go away.

My friend has been saying that Naruto will -officially- end in two episodes, and I think he meant that Naruto would die in two episodes. I still don't believe that, seeming how it's in the middle of a filler phase, and plus Sasuke has yet to come back to encounter Naruto...

Anyways, if Naruto did die, I guess it would be the end of the series, however I think I speak on behalf of lots of fans, through what Naruto's been through, don't think he'll die too easily. ^_~

I always thought if any one was going to get killed off in the team it would be Sasuke. Just because after everything is over what’s he going to do? He can’t just walk back into the village saying sorry. Unless Naruto is Hokage already because he’ll probably welcome him back with open arms. He’s such a softie like that…

Hmm…on second thought I don’t care who dies. They can all die I would just like an actual ending. I already feel like Naruto is going to turn into another Inuyasha. It will never ever end… so we shouldn’t even be worried about who’s going to die. We’ll all die first before we can find out the answer.

Nah, Naruto's just going to go into a vegatative state after fighting Sasuke and Kyuubi INSIDE HIS OWN BRAIN. The rest of the series will be about the court case during which Sakura struggles to let them pull the plug on his life-support machine because she knows he wouldn't have wanted to live like this.

Seriously ... I don't think Naruto will die. Not even at the end of the series. I don't think Sasuke will die, either. I'm quite convinced the whole thing will end happily (I'm a hopeless optimist, and the thing is, Naruto is basically a pretty optimistic series, for all the angst there is in between), and Naruto could not be happy if Sasuke died.
