So, I started thinking about Lee and how he can't use ninjutsu or genjutsu, which got me to wondering...

Can he do some of the advanced genin techniques, such as walking on water or climbing up trees? Besides the filler episode where he was clinging to the celing, I haven't really seen him do or fail at either of these things, so, it's just a guess.

Personally, I think he could... if the hand sign most people make for molding chakra to the feet is just for aiding in concentration and isn't an actual sign.

Which then makes me think that he'd have a hard time breaking out of a genjutsu, because in orser to do so, one has to use a hand sign, don't they? Unless... he could have to rely on a modified version by opening a gate or something, because that would displace his chakra properly, wouldn't it?

I come to you for opinions, fellow Narutards.

Edit: I have found proof! I spent a little time looking last night, and thanks to chibi_lothlen, I found the chapter I needed. In chapter 262, he does in fact walk on water. Here's the picture, cut for convinience and a possible spoiler. Maybe? I cropped most of it.

I've heard that in Post Time-Skip during the Save-Gaara Arc he did walk on water.

I was under the impression that chakra was pretty much the "MP" to power nin and genjutsu. I figured Lee had simply no chakra-molding ability, therefore rendering him unable to use nin or genjutsu.

Well, I found a picture that proves he can walk on water, so there's that... But then I have to wonder if it's just that he can't channel it into anything but his body? Like, perhaps that's the thing? Because I know a lot of his moves require chakra to be channeled into his muscles and things.

I think there's some kind of difference between concentrating chakra and actually using it to use ninjutsu and genjutsu. I suppose that ninjutsu and genjutsu are the "next step" to chakra, but just because Lee can't use those techniques doesn't mean he can't use chakra. :D When he opens his gates for that Lotus move, it appears chakra seems to be flowing out, and I guess it powers him up or something. Speaking of Lotus, doesn't he use a hand sign to activate it? Or maybe my memory is fuzzy.. ;_;

And Lee could inflict pain on himself as other ninjas did before (I think Sasuke did it once, and Shikamaru twisted his finger to get out of one) to get out of a genjutsu, but yah, he can't do the "KAI!" thing like Sakura most probably. :o
